A great headtorch with a long beam distance and a durable build. I love the scroll wheel which lets you dim the light to the level needed. I haveI use this torch for rogaining a form of orienteering which often means 12 hours of navigation in the dark. It does the job well but I have had to buy extra batteries to last the night out. The reason I have had to buy extra batteries is that the torch does not live up to the highly exaggerated claims of battery life. The replacement batteries are also extremely expensive. For these two reasons I have downgraded the torches review rating to 3 stars. The cost of a replacement battery pack is $80. This pack is 4400 mh. The higher the mh the longer the battery lasts. I bought from a reputable dealer a battery charger for $29 and two 18650 batteries with a total of 7200 mh. This has 1.63 times more battery life. I can buy additional quality batteries with a total of 5200 mh for $25. A big difference $80 versus $25 with more mh. The claims on battery life on power mode is 12 hours using 4400 mh batteries. When using 7200 mh batteries this should be 19.6 hours. The actual time for brand new batteries on 7200 mh was 10.5 hours. I state my case. From day one when using this torch the battery life has always been disappointing. A good torch if you use it for short forays into the dark but for the more adventurous staying out all night in the dark not so good.
