Does the harness include a hip belt for the Grand Royale at 75L?
G'day Mike,
I've just double checked one of our Black Wolf Grand Royale 75" from the shop floor and can confirm that it does, in fact, have a hip belt as a part of the harness.
Hello, the Grand Tour has the RFID pocket on the day pack. Does the Royale?
G'day Mike,
The Black Wolf Grand Royale does not have RFID protection, only the Black Wolf Grand Tour.
Can the day pack be purchased on its own if I need to replace the current one I have?
G'day Leanne,
The day pack for the Grand Royale is not an off the shelf item that we sell, but we should be able to source something for you if you wanted a replacement one.
If that's the case, the best thing to do is give our customer service team a buzz on 1300 914 007 or send us an email at service@snowys.com.au and we can see what we can do.
Can replacement elasticised cords on front of day pack be ordered and how would you replace the zipper on the front of the day pack where I'm assuming the bladder goes?
G'day Leanne,
There are no spare parts for Black Wolf packs readily available off the shelf, however, we'd still love to try and help. Could you give us a call on 1300 914 007 and we can look to place a special order with Black Wolf for you?
Any more features on daypack? Is it a large size for a reason? Is it east to zip on and off? I notice a number of brands now have clips instead of zips. Advantages of zips??
G'day Lindy,
The Grand Royale is like the fancy version with all the trimmings when compared to the Grand Tour. It's designed for the same purpose but has a few additional features like a day pack that has sealed zips and a storm flap over the main zippered compartment to fair better in the elements.
The day pack is also hydration compatible which means you can slip a bladder inside and use the back port to feed the hose through over your shoulder for easier hydration. The harness on the daypack is also a mesh aerated harness allowing air to circulate around your lumbar adding additional comfort. The main pack of the Royale has covered zips (stormflap) as well as having a slightly more adjustable harness. (We always recommend trying on a pack wherever possible to ensure the harness suits your body shape). The Royale also has a removable raincover so all these extras result in a higher price.
The fabric is the same and the daypacks both zip off which is quite easily done as long as you haven't overstuffed your pack. I guess clips can be quicker to use at times and are easier to replace but they only connect one point of the pack and can wear connection points a little faster than a zip so I guess that aspect may be down to personal preference (a zip does need to be maintained with a quick clean and a bit of graphite every now and then to keep it in the best working condition possible). I hope that helps you make a decision.
Does this bag come in black?
G'day Basil,Â
I've just had a look through the information provided to us by Black Wolf, and through our system and the Grand Royale Travel Pack only comes in Chili (red), Titanium (grey) and Navy/Steel (blue).Â
Your web page states the Capacity: 75L + 30L Daypack. It seems like a large day pack is this correct?
G'day Paul,
Going from the other packs in our range I'd say that a 30L size would sit in the middle in terms of size. On average I'd say the lowest is around the 20L mark, with 50L being the highest amount on average.Â
