Is it really no silhouette?? Looking at the videos, the fabric looks to allow light in so would also allow light out ie when using a light at night. Other ensuite tents have that silver lining to completely block silhouettes. So just how good is the Smarttek for privacy???
G'day Jeanette,
We've not used one of these at night ourselves, but Smarttek does indicate that they use a privacy fabric so silhouettes won’t show. All of the customer reviews are great, and we've not had any feedback that they would show a silhouette, so we're confident they're good for privacy.
Just wondering does the floor of the ensuite tent, shower side, have somewhere to drain the water?? Thanks
G'day Elise,
Yes, the shower side has mesh edging so that the water can drain away to the sides.
Should a shower tent have a groundsheet under it? For example a: OZtrail Ultramesh Tarp or Supex Caravan Annex Floor Matting
G'day Daniel,
You don't need to use a groundsheet under the Ensuite Shower Tent, however you could use an ultramesh tarp if you wanted to as it will increase the longevity of the floor on the ensuite. It's totally up to you, but it's not specifically required.
I note in the pictures that the Smarttek hot water system is right at the bottom of the tripod stand and next to the access flap. Does this make it tight for the provided 2m hose to mount to the shower recess position inside the tent? Also, if the unit is at the bottom of the tripod, does this impact any of the hoses not connected in the picture?
G'day Adam,
Thanks for getting in touch, if you have a good look at the features video Ben discusses the shower head height around the 4:30min mark. If you were to attach the unit at the top of the tripod stand you'll have a little less hose length to play with, but it won't affect the hoses you can connect.
I am a woman of 5 foot stature. Could I put this up on my own
G'day Lynette,
One of our Snowys Team is 4ft 11in and has just had a run at this. She feels pretty confident that she could put it up on her own, but it might be handy to have a small step at hand, just incase.
Is it rain proof
G'day Lynette,
The Smarttek Double Ensuit Shower Tent is not waterproof, but it is water resistant. Its made with water resistant fabric, and finished with a water resistant coating. You should be right in light rain or short downpours, but might run into trouble in consistently wet weather.
Hi Snowys, can the SmartTek hot water system hang off of the inside of the double shower tent or just the shower rose? Thanks
G'day Bree,
The Double Ensuite Shower Tent won't be able to support the weight of the SmartTek hot water system, just the shower rose. Best bet will be to buy a Tripod Stand and hand the unit just outside the ensuite and feed the hose for the shower head through the little zip in the bottom of the ensuite designed for the hose.
Husband hates the fact that the wind blows up underneath ours
G'day Johanne,
The Smarttek Double Ensuite Shower Tent has a built in, fully stitched poly floor, so no need to fear chilly ankles when the wind whips up!
