How much weight can this grill hold, and does it stay sturdy even if food is placed closer to the edges?

I've spoken to the supplier, and while there isn't an official weight rating - they would recommend that you don't put more than approximately 10kg on this grill.
As for sturdiness, in general it's going to depend on the softness of the ground - but the grill isn't going to slide down the pole if you place food towards the edge of the grill.
Also, could the plate hold a heavy cast iron pot? Thanks Paul
G’day Paul, if you were wanting to adjust the temperature to a low level with this grill you would need to shovel the coal out of the fire, as you can’t adjust the temperature by height. The Campfire Easy Camp Grill is best suited to grilling, and so it won’t be able to hold a heavy cast iron pot. If you’re looking for something that will bear the weight of cast iron and is suited to slow cooking - the Hillbilly Tripod may be something worth looking into (Snowys code: 36168).
