Great camp fire addition!

Love this bit of kit, makes cooking so much easier and thoroughly recommend! I'll probably make the skewer that holds it in the ground a touch longer, but it's still great as is!

just works

Stony soil, no problem. This just found its home straight in the ground in my fire pit. Already had three lovely breakfast feasts on this. It works really well.

Great camp grill - does the job!

Purchased a camp grill from Snowys over the phone and the service was great and the delivery was very quick. The item was exactly as described and we got to use it for the first time tonight and it did not disappoint. Great size plate to feed a family of four. Very happy with purchase, thanks

How much weight can this grill hold?1 answer

How much weight can this grill hold, and does it stay sturdy even if food is placed closer to the edges?

- Sydney(8 months ago)

G'day Paul,

I've spoken to the supplier, and while there isn't an official weight rating - they would recommend that you don't put more than approximately 10kg on this grill.

As for sturdiness, in general it's going to depend on the softness of the ground - but the grill isn't going to slide down the pole if you place food towards the edge of the grill.

Hi, From the specs I assume the length of the pole is 500mm which if driven 300mm into the ground fro stability leaves only 200mm max height above the fire/coals, which doesn't seem much for slow cooking?1 answer

Also, could the plate hold a heavy cast iron pot? Thanks Paul

- MERMAID WATERS, QLD(1 year ago)

G’day Paul, if you were wanting to adjust the temperature to a low level with this grill you would need to shovel the coal out of the fire, as you can’t adjust the temperature by height. The Campfire Easy Camp Grill is best suited to grilling, and so it won’t be able to hold a heavy cast iron pot. If you’re looking for something that will bear the weight of cast iron and is suited to slow cooking - the Hillbilly Tripod may be something worth looking into (Snowys code: 36168). If you want some more info on slow cooking with cast iron, www.campovencooking.com.au has a lot of helpful advice.

Is it possible to hang anything from the pole? (i.e. What does the top look like? It's cut off in the photo)1 answer

- MELBOURNE, VIC(1 year ago)
Hi Chris, what you see in the picture is how the top of the pole looks - it's cut off flat, there's no hook or bend that you might be able to use to hang other items from. I hope this helps, please let me know if you have any further questions.
