Top durability and can a cooker be used on the top1 answer
Hi, Will the MDF top of this cupboard be affected by water/rain? and Would it be safe to use a two burner gas stove or a trangia?

G'day An,
This cupboard is not designed to be used outside where rain/water may affect it. In regards to using it as a cook top. This shouldn't be a problem, as long as you use commonsense. Most of the heat escapes upward from the stove, and minimal heat coming out the bottom of the stove to cause concern. Care should be taken not to have anything flammable around the stove, and using the stove for long periods or with large pots or griddles may cause a build up of heat underneath, so you just need to keep an eye on things. Camping cupboards are not particularly stable either, so take care when using it. My thoughts are to use a separate stove stand, such as the Oztrail Compact Camp Kitchen which is specifically designed to be very stable plus heat won't be an issue with the aluminium and if need be it can take a bit of rain/water!
