Hello there! I'm wondering if the Dual Swag 1100 swag fits the Zempire Z Leg King Single Stretcher? I've got the previous generation version of the stretcher (Speedy Stretcher in King Single). Just wanting to find out if the stretcher I have will work (so as to save some money for more camping gear! yay!) or should I get the Darche XL100 or Oztent RS-1 instead?
G'day Terry,
The Zempire Z Leg Stretcher would be a little too narrow at 77cm wide to support the Dual Swag 1100. You would be better off with something at least 100cm wide like the Darche XL or Oztent RS-1 Stretchers.
Can you get a fitted sheet to suit 23zero 1100 Swag mattresses?
G'day Ben,
There's no specific 1100 camping mattress fitted sheets around that I've seen.
Most people just use a standard bed sheet like you would use with your bed at home.
A King Single fitted sheet would do the trick.
Hi, I know this model has had a few updates lately. I just wanted to know what you think of the new pre-bent stainless steel poles compared to the older aluminum poles. Do they prevent the sides from sagging more than the old poles, and do you think they would be as strong and durable as the aluminum ones. Also, I've seen a recent review that said on the mesh ends, the mesh is on the inside and the canvas is on the outside, so they can't be opened from inside the swag, is that correct?
G'day Daryl,
Yes this model has updated the poles to 9.5 mm Black Coated Stainless Steel End Poles. These have been much better in terms of durability and strength, we have seen a lot fewer broken poles. They do help structure the swag a little more although you still may get some sag in the canvas, always best to use guy ropes and peg out the swag to reduce this.
Inside the swag, the canvas flap is on the inside and the mesh is on the outer, you can open both ends from the inside of the swag!
Hello. Is the mattress cover removable for washing? Also are there any storage pockets inside the swag? Thankyou
G'day Melissa,
It can be removed, but its not something we'd recommend as its abit of a pain to try and get back on.
Your best bet is to use a sheet if you're thinking it will get grubby.
There is a small storage pocket for holding a phone and keys, but not much more.
Thanks Lauren, good to know.
Gday Guys on the pics the hoops look to have a slight kink/bend but it doesnt appear on the vids Ben does. Is the vid earlier models ?
G'day Drew,
Yep, the video is on earlier models with the pole being the only change.
This was made to offset common tensioning issues when the swag was being set up, which contributed to the poles failing.
Hope that helps.
Thanks Lauren it was hard to get to sleep at night wondering 😂
Very happy to help - sweet dreams!!
Hi. Do they have a hook or a tab to allow you to hang a small lantern or light. Cheers
G'day Rob,
There is a small loop and plastic ring on a tab in the end wall roof seam, on one end of the swag.
Obviously, you can orient yourself however you like, however it's most common to pop your head up that end, so you can have a light above you.
Hope that helps.
Does the mesh also zip down at the head and foot ends lick the canvas
G'day Mick,
Yep, the canvas and mesh fully unzips on both ends of the Dual Swag range.
recommended stretcher for this swag
G'day Garry,
1100 swags are a little wide for any of the stretchers we've got, but we've had a few people use them on the Darche XL 100 or the Oztent RS-1 Stretcher, and just worked around the few extra centimetres of overhang.
Can you buy replacement frame for 23zero dual swag
G'day Wendy,
Yes you can, from 23Zero directly.
Head to their Spare Parts Page for more info.
Hi, in regards to the seam sealing done on this swag. Can you please confirm if it’s the seam tape like what’s done on most tents, or a factory applied liquid seam sealer ?
G'day Rodney,
The seam sealing on the 23 Zero swags is a clear tape.
Hopefully that helps!
Hi does the canvas need to be seasoned? If so hoe do you season it?
G'day Aaron,
The 23Zero Dual Swag 1100 is fully seam-sealed, so they don't need to be seasoned.
I'm a single person can occasionally 2 people sleep in here? I feel the double is too big for one person
G'day Em,
The 1100 width is right between a single and double size, so while you can fit two people in there, you'd really want to know the other person well, and not be too phased to not have much space to spread out.
I’ve purchased 3 dual swags from you and can’t find any info on seasoning. Is it recommended or are they ready to go out of the box?
G'day Stefan,
We'd recommend seasoning any new canvas product to make sure that all of your stitch holes swell and seal so you won't have any leaks. Most of the seams on the 23Zero swags are seam-sealed so that will help, but if you've got the time we'd recommend seasoning it before the first use.
Hello, How does this compare to the Darche Dusk to Dawn? They seem almost identical. I’m finding it hard to decide between the two.
G'day Aaron,
The two swags are quite similar and have some similar features. The Canvas on the Dusk to Dawn is slightly heavier at 420gsm, versus 400gsm, and the head height of the dusk to dawn is also slightly higher at 80cm versus 68cm. Overall both options are good, and have great reviews, so we're pretty confident recommended either option, and it probably just comes down to personal preference.
Are the external and internal dimensions correct? It seems to have a bit of extra room around the mattress if it is really 121cm wide with an internal width of 110cm. Other brands only quote the width of there 1100 swags as 110cm wide and internal dimensions as the same width of 110cm.
G'day Jon,
You'll see that we've got an orange tick next to the measurements for the external dimensions and sleeping area, which means we've physically measured this our selves with a tape measure, and so we can confirm that this is the external size to the outside of the pole, versus the internal sleeping area size.
Is this swag freestanding? Thanks.
G'day Ros,
Yep, it is! The ridgepole across the top allows this swag to be freestanding.
Are 23Zero Swags made from Ripstop canvas? If not, how does their canvas rate for strength and durability given it has a similar GSM to Darche? Does Ripstop offer that much of a practical advantage?
G'day Peter,
The 23Zero swags have a slightly lighter canvas at 400gsm versus 420gsm. Feeling the two types they feel very similar to me. Ripstop can be a handy feature if you do accidentally got a hole in your swag, but we think they're both great options.
Does this swag have identical side entry/awning on other side as well as peg-out awning at the foot end. The pictures only show one side and end.
G'day Peter,
I've just double-checked our display model and can confirm that both sides of the swag have the same entry/awning. The small head and foot awnings are also the same.
