What is the total weight limit for the extended part of the RTT base. It seems when climbing the ladder and entering the tent, the extended part of the RTT moves a little bit and seems almost like it is about to break. I can't seem to find a weight limit of how much this part of the tent can bare.

A roof top tent ladder generally has a weight limit of 150Kg, but the tent itself won't have a weight limit. Its not a specification that is provided by any brand, unless its an ultralight model, as theres very few real life scenarios where a RTT weight rating would be relevant. Its far more likely that the roof load rating of your vehicle will be exceeded before you come close to puttting too much weight in your roof top tent. Sounds like its just abit of getting used to - its normal for a roof top tent to have some movement when you're getting in and out. If you're concerned, take some videos of the issue and get in touch with Darche. It may be that installation isnt quite right.

Is there an available bracket to mount a 270 freestanding awning to this rooftop tent base? Could the XD Hitch be used with just 1 bolt from the hitch body to a t nut in the tent rail?

It can't sorry - the Double Dee isnt compatible for direct mounting with a roof top tent. You'll need a roof-top tent with a double high, 2 track mounting plate along the edge, such as the Darche HighRize
