The nimble, collapsible and lightweight Distance Carbon Z Trekking Poles from Black Diamond are designed for gram counting adventurers.
These poles are constructed from 100% carbon and have a three-section foldable design and speed cone deployment to enable easy and simple use. This design features improved joint support and stiffness, with extra reinforcements around the upper shaft and the locking mechanism. The grip is made from light EVA foam, with a non-slip foam mini grip extension and a moisture-wicking strap for extra security. You can switch out the tips from non-scarring rubber to carbide depending on the terrain, and there’s a stopper basket with shaft catcher to secure folded sections.
The lightest Z pole in the Black Diamond range, the Distance Carbon Z trekking poles provide lightweight and packable support on the trail.
Hello Snowys, do BD make these poles in longer lengths like some of their other types? E.g up to 130cm max length?
G'day Anthea,
These poles are fixed length poles, so if you are wanting something longer, the Carbon FLZ poles are the way to go.
The FLZ poles are essentially the same, they just have the ability to be adjusted slightly to account for terrain and topography, where the ability to adjust your pole height can be essential.
Hope that helps!
I’m interested in buying but how do you decide what size to get and how long to get to Canberra . Thankyou
G'day Janice,
The general rule of thumb when deciding on the right size pole to order is to stand with your elbow at a right angle with palms facing each other. Then measure the distance from the centre of your palm to the ground, and that should be your optimum pole length. With a fixed-length pole like the Carbon Z poles, we'd generally recommend round up to the next size if you're in the middle of two lengths.
As poles are shown in pairs and so it the weight so the price of $212.90 is for 1 pair or one pole. Advertising is not clear
G'day Marianne,
Yes the Distance Carbon Z Trekking Poles are sold in a pair. The weight listed is for the two poles in the pair.
