In the boat, car, 4WD or truck, a Dometic (formerly Waeco) Cool Ice 68 Litre Icebox offers tons of holding capacity in a manageable size. Featuring integrated carry handles and tie down straps as well as refrigeration grade insulation that keeps ice anywhere from 3 to 10 days.
Made through a roto-mould process, Dometic Cool Ice Iceboxes have a smooth, precise and seam free finish, the hinges, seals and latches all line up, it’s tough and an absolute breeze to keep clean. A food quality gasket in the lid comes together in a ‘Labrinth Seal to keep the cool in and the heat out.
Strong nylon latches feature with stainless steel screws for easy replacement, fully integrated hinges sit flush with the exterior and are held together with stainless steel rods that will never need replacing.
I've found this great so far. It kept all our fridge & freezer food cool & frozen when moving house. No negatives.
A great unit at a great price with great service from Snowy's thrown in. I got to day 7 before the ice had melted and then still had cold water and that was opening it twice daily. Very satisfied.
First time taking it away the ice lasted 5 days, and with carful use/block ice it probably would have gone to 6 days. I'm very happy with the performance, bungy cord latches are a concern but these can be replaced without too much trouble if they fail.
Best price available compared to others, kept ice for days in shed over hottest xmas. Ordered on a Thurs. delivered to door on Tues. free postage. Good sturdy esky.
The WCI-70 is by far the best Icebox I have used. Huge usable space without taking up too much room. Has held ice for 6 days in 35 Degrees +. Have never found this icebox anywhere near this price! Amazing deal
removeable basket ?
There are currently no accessories (including baskets) available for the Dometic Waeco Cool Ice Ice-Box range.
Interested in the WCI-70 Dometic Ice Box. If camping for up to 7 days, would this be big enough for a family of four?
This should be more than adequate for a family of four Emma, but this is somewhat dependant on the type of food you are taking.
I travel with a 40-litre fridge and a 55-litre esky for my family of four. The icebox holds all the food that doesn't go in the fridge i.e. fruit, dry goods, bread etc and I can make this work for 1-2 week long trips.
If your icebox is much bigger than this then it will end up taking up most of your vehicle's storage space, so maybe take to your car with a tape measure and make sure you can comfortably fit this in with all the other gear you will be packing.
