Bought 2 of these chairs yesterday. Tried them out for the first time today and one has cracked already where the poles slot in. My wife isn’t a big lady so they definitely wouldn’t last if your over 60kg. Very disappointed.
I'm sorry to hear that - if you've got a sec, are you able to send us an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) with a photo or two of the crack? Our warranty team will take a look right away. Laine :)
Bought two of these chairs and my wife loving it so much, due to higher back and head rest make this compact chair so perfect, i ordered in Tuesday night and received them on Thursday afternoon, what more u can ask for !!!
Used this for the first few days of a trip into outback SA - replaced with an alternative part way through the trip. Slightly different to the pictured item and did not come with the sand base. I'm a reasonably big bloke (but well under its weight rating) and the plastic socket assembly the legs fit into was becoming unstable. Unusually poor quality for an OzTrail product.
I'm sorry to hear that... if your new chair isn't performing how it should, please send us an email (email@example.com) with as much info as possible so our warranty team can take a look.
As soon as I sat in one in store I didn't want to get back up. Felt like I could sit there all day. Bought a couple for my 70 year old father, for his car/caravan.
This is a great little chair that delivers on comfort as well as compact convenience. Even in our Troopy, we can run out of storage space when packing for a trip and this chair takes up less space than just about any other comparably sized chair I've seen. OK, there are no arm rests, no integrated side table, and no insulated beverage holder - but it is comfortable and two of them take up less space than one "standard" camp chair.
Wanted a compact chair I could take on the motorbike. Exactly what I wanted. Ordered on the Wednesday, received following Monday, and no delivery charge. Awesome
We got these as we were catching a bus to a music festival and wanted something compact and easy to carry. The chair pack to about half the length and the same width as a normal chair (once you figure out how to fold them up and fit them in the bag). They fold out to a full sized chair easily enough, but are not as good as a normal chair. They feel more like a bucket seat because they don't have arms and the high back means the sides restrict where you can put your arms. Also we found them to be a bit wobbly to sit in. The headrest is nice and they're good if you want to lay back and snooze, but if you just want to sit comfortably they aren't ideal. Some other people at the camp site had the smaller version of compaclite chairs which were a little better because you could put your arms over the sides and try and turn them into arm rests a little bit, but still not as good as a normal chair.
I couldn't be happier with this chair. Easy to set up, strong and Comfortable. Packs away easily. The higher back on this model makes it far more comfortable on the neck compared to other lower backed models. Great lightweight bit of gear for motorcycle camping.
Hello, does this chair come in other colours?
The Oztrail Compaclite Voyager Camp Chair only comes in the red, I'm sorry to say. If you were wanting to look at another colour, then maybe another chair from the Compaclite Range might suit you.
Can you move or remove the headrest?
The Oztrail Compaclite Voyager Camp Chair headrest is attached with velcro so you can adjust the height or remove it completely.
Is 39x140x140cm the correct packed dimension?
Now that doesn't sound right for a compact chair! I've double checked with the info provided by Oztrail, and it seems that this chair is actually 39 x 14 x 14 - so I've fixed those specs up now.
Sorry about the confusion there Rem, I hope this hasn't inconvenienced you.
I HAVE HAD TROUBLE WITH CAMP SEAT MATERIAL TEARING AS FRAME PUNCTURES IT AT TOP ON MANY CAMP CHAIRS. I WEIGH 70KG
I've just had a look myself at the display model, and the seat hooks over the corners of the frame. This area of the seat is reinforced so there shouldn't be an issue with tearing. The Compaclite chair is rated to 110kg, so you're well within the weight rating.
Just keep in mind it's designed to be compact and lightweight, and isn't going to offer as much sturdiness as a director or quad fold style chair. If you're after a really robust chair, Oztent make some very sturdy ones but they aren't going to be as portable of course.
