For a great balance of weight, comfort and insulation – you can count on the Comfort Light Insulated Women’s Mat from Sea to Summit.
Shaped to be wider at the hip and narrower at the shoulder for a women’s specific fit, this mat offers 6.3cm of comfort. It’s got an R-value of 3.9 thanks to the Exkin Platinum® technology which reflects heat, and the thicker THERMOLITE® insulation to keep you warm and comfy as you sleep. The 30/40D nylon fabric is lightweight, quiet and packable while also being easy to repair in the field with the included self-adhesive patches.
To prevent mould growth, this mat has an Ultra-Fresh® anti-microbial treatment to the TPU. The Air Sprung Cells™conform to your body to evenly disperse the pressure, and to make inflation, deflation and adjustment easy, it’s got a multi-function high flow rate valve. The Comfort Light Insulated Women’s Mat from Sea to Summit is a
Does this have to be inflated with the stuff sack or can you just blow into it?
G'day Ben,
The insulation is treated with an anti-microbial so you could blow the mat up by mouth if you wanted to save some weight and leave the stuff sack behind, however the stuff sacks are pretty light weight and help to keep the mat rolled, so they're going to be the most efficient way to inflate your mat on the trail.
Asking because I know the dimensions of the women’s and men’s mats differ
G'day Larissa,
The Air Chair Regular is the best fit for the Comfort Light Insulated Women's Sleeping Mats. The Large is a bit too big for either of the Women's models.
Hi, just wondering which you would recommend between the two mats for multi-day hikes in Tasmania, where temperates usually drop to 0c or lower at night. Also, between a self inflating mat and a blow-up mat, is there a difference between durability for its valve and material? Thank you
G'day Eva,
It would be worth having a read of our blog that explains R-values as it will help you decide what you need. Essentially you'll need to look at mats with an R-value or ASTM of 4 or more for winter conditions. Both the Thermarest Prolite Plus and Comfort Light Insulated meet these criteria so will keep you toasty when used alongside a good quality sleeping bag. The Sea to Summit mat will be a little lighter and more compact and offers a thicker mat, the Thermarest is made from a slightly more durable material, and uses foam for insulation which leads to the slightly larger packed size and weight.
Hello- I'm having trouble deciding between the S2S women's comfort light insulated and the ether light xt insulated. Do you think the slightly higher R value here compensates for it being a thinner, slightly heavier mattress than the ether light would be? I'm looking for something to take on weekend camping trips and week-long hikes in Tasmania.
G'day Emily,
Great question, the Comfort Light Insulated Women's & Ether Light XT Insulated Women's are both great options. The Ether Light mats are selling really well and we're getting great feedback from a few staff who have purchased them. Both options will suit your needs, but if you wanted a back-up with the dual layer from shoulder to hip on the Comfort Light then maybe go for that one.
Thanks
G'day Kirsten,
Thanks for your enquiry. The dimensions listed in the details and specs will update when you choose a size. The external dimensions of the large are 183cm in length and 64cm in width.
