Ready for an adventure? The Cocoon Sleeping Bag from Explore Planet is ready to keep you comfy on your streamlined expedition.
Designed especially for adventure travel, the Cocoon bag packs up relatively small so that it’s easy to fit in with the rest of your gear. The fill used is a synthetic Maxotherm bonded filling which provides warmth and protection, and the tapered hood design will help keep the warmth in when you need it on a chiller evening. Additionally, this bag also has a lining which will reflect your body heat, making it easier for you to stay snug in your sleeping bag.
The compact packed size, and warmth-focused features make the Cocoon -5° from Explore Planet Earth a solid budget-friendly sleeping option.
A little small for someone with more than 1.85cm, but worked quite well in the Blues in September. No complains!
Winter in Adelaide Hills is not super cold (usually average around 1 - 2'C by 5am, with occasional frost). We got one of these, admittedly the price was a very convincing factor. It breathe well, you won't get super stuffy in it, but the -5 rating is more of a limit rating than comfort rating. We end up using two similar rating sleeping bad per person and it works out perfectly.
Can two of these sleeping bags be zipped together to make one bigger sleeping bag?
You can zip 2 of the EPE Cocoon Micro -5 Sleeping Bags together. Just keep in mind though that because they taper towards the bottom, it will be a bit of an odd shape.
In the ad it shows the bag with 0degree printed. Just confirming these are -5 as per description
Thanks for making us aware of that mistake, we've fixed it up now. The EPE Cocoon Micro -5 Sleeping Bags that we've got in stock are the -5° rated ones.
Hi, I was just wondering if the temperature rating was done by the company or was it independently tested?
The original EPE Cocoon Micro -5 Sleeping Bag was independently tested. From there, with minor changes to the design and the like, Explore Planet Earth have tested them in-house from then on. With this being the latest model, they've been tested by Explore Planet Earth.
Hi. Could you tell me the max lowest temp rating on this bag
I've just given Explore Planet Earth a buzz to find out for you. They told me that whilst they've got the -5° comfort limit on the Cocoon Micro, they haven't got any figure around an extreme limit, I'm sorry to say.
Hi there, does this sleeping bag comes with a bag?
It sure does! The EPE Cocoon Micro -5 Sleeping Bag comes with a compression bag, so you can pack it in nice and small!
Hi, The packed dimensions provided (roughly 33cm cubed) don't seem all that small or compact for hiking, and seem quite different to the image provided. Are they correct?
The packed dimensions on our website for the Explore Planet Earth Cocoon Micro -5 Sleeping Bag are taken without any compression applied to the bag. Once you compress it in its compression bag, it gets significantly smaller.
