I have a 120 aH dual battery system installed in my vehicle. Just wondering how many hours it can run (considering battery on full charge) without recharging of the battery? As I am using ESKY and generally keep loads on top of my ESKY like camping chairs, tool kits while traveling , will CFF45 has the strength and durability to take topup load on the lid?
I had a chat with our resident 12V expert and if we're making a few assumptions and being very conservative with our estimation, we'd say you'll get around 12-15hrs continuous use of the compressor from a 120ah battery. You'll possibly get more, but as I said we were conservative in our estimates just to be on the safe side and avoid damaging your battery. Given that the fridge will cycle on and off you'll get much more 'real-world' usage, but there are so many variables here it's hard to give an exact number.
If you're using the transit bag to add more protection you should be fine if you needed to load some gear on top of the fridge. Just be careful and try to get your lighter gear stacked on top if you can.
Other than being about 2-3L bigger and lid opening from side what’s the difference vs the cf-40 and cfx-40?
Just to clarify, I assume we're looking at the difference between the CFF-45 and the CFX-40 as we've never stocked the CF-40. The big difference for a lot of people would be the better compressor in the CFX series, which comes with an extra 2 years warranty on parts. The CFX series also feature wifi connectivity so you can monitor the temp etc from your phone rather than having to purchase a separate, wired display panel. They also have a USB power outlet and will draw a little less power all up.
