Can this be used on a gas cook top and is there a trivet that fits it ?

G'day Aaron,

You can use these on a gas cooktop, however, you won't get the "oven" type cooking you would with coals heaped on the lid. You could use it as a large stockpot on a stove, but you wouldn't be able to cook a cake, damper, roast etc like you would with coals. You can find the Trivets HERE.

Will the 12” Bedourie fit inside this oven? Looking at the numbers it should. But I know handles can get in the way

I've just tried this out for you and the Bedourie 12" unfortunately doesn't fit inside the BushKing 12.5L. I could get it just inside at the top but the Bedourie only fit part of the way in. This is due to the tapered design of the Bushking.

I've just given this a go myself downstairs, and it seems that the Campfire Camp Oven Trivet in the 9qrt size is the best one to fit inside the base of the 12.5L Hillbilly BushKing. You can have a look at this trivet on our website here.

Apologies Ben, I must have overlooked the Hillbilly brand Trivets as well when I was downstairs.

It seems that the large is the best size for the 12.5L Bushking, so you can just pick between that one and the Campfire trivet.
