Hi Team, Is the camp oven/lid (frying pan) ok to ise over gas? Thanks.
G'day Marty,
Yes, you can use the camp oven/lid over gas if you've got a large enough burner. Just be sure to check for hot spots though, as sometimes you'll end up with a concentrated heat at the centre if you're using a gas ring.
Hi there, any chance the campfire 4.5qt fit inside? And would there be room for it if it was in the Pioneer bag? Also if you were to purchase the extension ring would it fit in the bag as well? If you were to sit the oven in it? Thanks guys!
G'day Pippa,
I've just checked for you and you can fit a 4.5 Quart Camp Oven inside the BushKing when it is in the Pioneer Bag, however, you won't be able to also fit the extension ring into the bag too.
As above
G'day Nic
I've just measured the Bushking 12.5L for you and the outer diameter of the top of the camp oven including the handle notches is 43cm, or excluding the handle notches is 35cm. The external measurement of the bottom of the camp oven is 29cm.
The picture for the Bushranger kit includes a pot lifter handle - does the Bush King kit come with one too?
G'day Denis,
Yes, the
Hi can you please advise which is better for camp ovens? Spun steel or cast iron? I am looking at either this or the campfire range. Thanks
G'day Rowena,
Excellent question. There are a few main differences between the cast iron and the spun steel. The cast iron pot will weigh a lot more, will retain its heat better and cook more evenly. If you drop the cast iron pot though, it will almost certainly smash. The spun steel will be lighter and won't smash when dropped but won't retain heat quite as well and is uneven in cooking sometimes.
just enquiring whether this unit is spun steel or cast iron. thanks in advance :)
