For the trail and travel junkie gram-counters - the Deuter Aircontact Ultra 50 + 5 Backpack strips away everything that isn’t essential and leaves everything that is.
This is a long-distance trekking backpack with exceptional capacity and comfort, weighing just over 1.2 kilograms! Seasoned hikers know that the less weight you carry, the more energy you have to go the distance. A virtually indestructible, elastic spring-steel, circular frame effectively transfers weight to the hip belt, supporting Deuter’s famous ‘Air Contact Back’ system. This has this sturdy and comfortable pack easy to carry, with excellent freedom of movement and plenty of cushioning and ventilation.
A trimmed clip-and-loop arrangement allows you to alter the back length, adjustable shoulder straps bring the load closer to your shoulders, while the wide, fully adjustable mesh hip fins with lumbar support transfer the load effectively to the pelvis for less shoulder strain and reduced back pain. Convenience and safe stowage haven’t been sacrificed for weight either, with an elasticated inner compartment perfect for wet and dirty gear. Plus, use the hydration bladder strap to hang a water bladder of up to 3 litres inside. Stow it all safely with the spindrift drawstring collar under the lid.
The removable lid is height adjustable to offer up to 5 litres of extra internal space, or somewhere to strap a tent or sleeping mat. You can also do this via the outer material straps, also used to compress the load for stability and security. Three outer mesh pockets offer handy stash spaces for water bottles, energy bars, snack, maps, or whatever you need quick access to. Zippered pockets on the hip fins also keep your valuables out in front, and close to hand.
If you’re looking for an ultra-light and super tough bag with all the features expected from a hike pack - look no further. The Aircontact 50 + 5 Backpack by Deuter will have you tackling the tracks and backpacking like a boss.
Can I ask what size this clearance is
G'day Ryan,
The back length on Air Contact Ultra packs is 42-62 cm.
Hope that helps!
Are you able to tell me what is the maximum carrying capacity for this pack?
G'day Dean,
This is a 50 5L pack, so 55L in total, if you're talking about volume capacity.
If you are talking about a load limit, there isnt one supplied with this particular pack. Generally that means the pack can probably handle more than what you can carry, but it's best practice and strongly recommended that a hiker should never carry more than a 3rd of their body weight.
Hope that helps.
