We all know that you’ve got to be cruel be kind in the right measure, but Mother Nature may not always agree. Make sure you give yourself a nice sheltered space from the sun and wind to relax under, with the Zempire Aerobase Shelter.
This shelter inflates in mere minutes and will pack away just as quick – just lay it out, put the pump in, add some air, thread the poles through and you’re done! Everyone knows that Australian outdoor conditions can get so hot that you can actually fry an egg on the ground, so a shelter like this with SPF50+ protection will give you another layer protection from the harsh summer climate.
The packed Aerobase is almost half the size of your average steel shelter, and you can collapse the shelter by the inflation valve instead of removing the canopy. So, whether you’re off to a watch a sporting event, hosting a backyard BBQ or setting up camp – the Aerobase will give you some shade for you to relax under, and wind protection if the weather goes awry.
The Coleman’s are often wind rated are these
G'day Tim,
I've checked with Zempire and they don't give a wind rating as such, however the beauty of air poles is that they are more durable and stable, unlike traditional poles. The Aerobase also includes Geodesic Brow Pole Supports in the top corners for additional stability, which helps to prevent the shelter from twisting in the wind. There are also top vents for ventilation which act to reduce pressure building up and prevent the shelter from lifting. So although Zempire do not provide a wind rating, the Aerobase does have an advantage over traditional pole shelters!
Looking for a camping shelter to keep our stuff under. I would get all walls to have it fully enclosed in bad weather. Would this comfortably fit a table, 5 chairs and a separate table with BBQ and cooking equipment? Or would we need the bigger Aerobase 4 version?
G'day Jarrad,
The floor space under the Aerobase 3 is 3.5 x 3.5m so you might be ok with a the 3, but I think the Aerobase 4 might be a little more spacious and comfortable for you.
I was looking for a shelter that can be setup in a backyard and moved easily when I want to mow the lawn. Can this shelter be moved easily without taking it down once setup?
G'day Tom,
Great question, the Aerobase 3 Shelter is a temporary shelter so it's not really designed to be left up permanently, so if it's being left up long enough to need to mow your lawn then you might need to consider a more permanent shelter option. The Aerobase 3 Shelter should be left up unattended or longer than your average camping trip (e.g. 1 to 2 weeks).
chasing a plug (stopper )for the inflation also one spare pole section
G'day Jason,
Unfortunately we dont stock spare parts for the Zempire Aerobase 3 Shelters. I reckon your best bet would be to contact Zempire directly and see what they can rustle up for you! info@zempire.com.au
If the Aero Pump is no longer available what is a compatible replacement pump. What is your recommended replacement pump that works just as good if not better??
G'day Garry,
The Zempire Hurricane Pump will do the trick to inflate the Aerobase 3 Shelter.
The pictures seem unclear
G'day Max,
The Zempire Aerobase 3 Shelter Wall comes with guy ropes pre-attached to the outside of the shelter.
It would appear from the pictures that it's the roof and walls with no floor. Or am I (hopefully) mistaken?
G'day Brendan,
The Zempire Aerobase 3 Shelter doesn't come with a floor, no. You can grab a Ground Sheet for it here though.
Is the 4 much bigger than the three?
G'day Matt,
When packed down, the Zempire Aerobase 3 Shelter Wall is approximately 74 x 38 x 34 cm. The Aerobase 4 is slightly bigger at 74 x 43 x 43 cm.
Weight is listed at 14.5 kilos. Does that include pump poles etc or just the shelter. I'm interested in total weight
G'day David,
I've just checked this with the web team, and the 14.5 k weight listed includes everything that comes with the Zempire Aerobase 3 Shelter.
We have the txl and wondered i we could fit this to the dry area at least butt up if not slightly over top? Thanks
G'day Louise,
You shouldn't have too many problems butting the awning area of your Aero TXL Tent up to the Zempire Aerobase 3 Shelter. You might just need to work out a way to not have water leak off the front of your awning into the shaded area of the Aerobase.
Good morning, does the Aerobase 3 (and 4) have hooks or good spots to hang lamps? Also is the only difference between the 3 and 4 the size factor or is the 4 also a later model? Many thanks
G'day Cameron,
The Zempire Aerobase shelters have a hook in the centre where the air poles cross that you can hang a lantern from.
The only difference between the 3 and 4 models is the size.
When will you be receiving more stock?
When fully inflated, what is the internal height of the dome
G'day Rob,
I've just checked with the info given to us by Zempire, and the peak height of the Aerobase shelter is 2.3m.
I know the Coleman Event 14 has a bigger footprint - but do you know the height/width of the doorways and maximum height of each gazebo? Thanks. :)
G’day Damian,
The doorways on the Event 14 are as wide as the width of the sides which are 4.26m, and the height is 1.8m. As for the Zempire Aerobase – we’ve checked with the supplier, and they’ve said that the doorways are 1.7m high, and 2.7m wide.
Is there a way to anchor the corners on the beach to deal with typical WA wind on the beach?
G'day Miles,Â
We've just had a look at what you get with the Aerobase, and this particular shelter does come with four smaller (approx 20cm) sand pegs, plus 16 regular pegs so you will be able to anchor each corner down on the sand with the included sand pegs.Â
If you are going to be on very soft ground, you could always get some extra sand pegs in a bigger size like the 300mm Plastic Sand Tent Pegs from Poles Apart, or some even sturdier ones like these Aluminium Sand/Snow pegs in the 310mm size for the guy ropes.
This shelter is made to withstand a bit of wind, but just keep in mind that they are not designed for extreme weather conditions.Â
can't see it on the website
G'day Joe,Â
We have the Aero Pump in stock, but for some reason we just hadn't got around to activating it - so thanks for bringing it to our attention Joe. We've made it live now, so you can check it out here if you're interested.Â
I am hoping to purchase aerodome 2 or 3 and use aerodome out front as my shade seated area but want it to either go right over the entry or at least flush in line. Thanks
G'day Ryan,
This is a bit of a tricky one Ryan, we actually don't have them both set up - but I've had a chat with Zempire, and they've told me that even though the peak height of the Aerobase is 2.3m, the top of the doorway is 1.8m - so it's going to be lower than the Aerodome II.Â
This means that they're not going to line up perfectly, nor will you be able to have the Aerobase sit slightly over the entrance of the tent because the doorway will obstruct it. I hope this made sense, let us know if you have any further queries about the range.Â
G'day Ryan,
I've just spoken to Zempire and the Aerobase 2 to 3 connector is now available in Australia. We don't stock it but should be able to do a special order for you. Please send us an email (service@snowys.com.au) and we can chase up a price for you.
How does this shelter handle wind and rain?
Weather protection on the Aerobase is in line with any other gazebo or sun shelter David. with proper set-up it will handle your average wet and windy day, and the fabrics are waterproof enough to keep out heavy rain, but strong winds could quickly see your shelter turn into a parachute, you'd be best taking the shelter down if there are any severe weather warnings out.
Just wondering if it is possible to buy wall segments to completely enclose the shelter? Are there attachment points on all 4 sides?
G'day Mike,Â
I've just checked this for you, and you should be able to attach walls to each side of the Aerobase Shelter. This shelter comes with one wall included so that's something to keep in mind if you were wanting to purchase more side walls.
We do have the side walls available online which you have a look at here if you're interested.Â
