Good product

We have just bought our second one; the first one became a bit tired, with 4 hole patches after extensive use in the Aust outback and high country while 4WDing. Very comfortable and convenient to use

Mixed

The bed is very comfortable and easy to set up. But, I think I just managed to get a dud. The first time I set it up on a 2 night camp it was deflating so I was laying on the ground within a few hours. Pump went flat I had to keep inflating so much so had to keep dragging it to the car in the dark to re-inflate. It was pinhole punctured right out of the box next to the inflation port, so not somewhere in contact with ground. Infuriating. I also find the pump to be rubbish at times. I charge it for >12 hours the night before a trip and sometimes you barely get a full inflation out of it and have to end up plugging in to the car to get enough juice so the battery isn't great.

Comfy

Comfortable, but despite great care, easily punctured. Was slowly deflating prior to puncture. Would go better quality next time.

AeroBed

Best nights sleep ever camping - you do not roll towards the middle like cheap air beds. It appears that you need to charge the pump for 24 hours before use but if you forget the pump plugs into you car cigarette lighter and it will inflate in 60 seconds. Thank you Snowys.

Fantastic product

So easy to inflate and very comfortable. Even deflates and folds up smaller than the carry bag. Just remember that you have to charge the inflation device for 24-hours beforehand - lucky we checked!

Two week camping trip and the Aerobed was great!

Left our caravan at home and went back to basics with a two week camping trip to Birdsville races in a tent. After much consideration about what to sleep on, we purchased the Aerobed double airbed at the last minute and can't recommend it enough!! So quick to inflate, very comfortable every night for two weeks and loved how quick it was to pack up! Everyone hates the packing up in the morning but the Aerobed was a breeze. I'm sure it will now get plenty of use as a spare mattress at home too.

comparison1 answer

how do these compare to the eurobed?

- Alkimos(6 months ago)

G’day Binita,

We’re not familiar with the Eurobed as it’s not a product we sell but from doing some research I can try and give you a bit of comparison. Keep in mind that we have not used the Eurobed so we can’t comment on the quality/functionality, but from what I can see online:

  • Both have a soft finish surface
  • Eurobed has 240V pump whereas Aerobed uses Rechargeable 240V and 12V pump
  • Eurobed has weight rating of 250kg, Aerobed is 295kg
  • Eurobed takes 3 mins to deflate Aerobed takes 60 seconds
  • Aerobed is 23cm high, Eurobed is 36cm
  • Both made from PVC

If you were planning on using your airbed camping then the Aerobed may be more suitable as it can be recharged from home or your car, it’s also a better option for the outdoors as it deflates quicker – which is better for touring. It seems that the Eurobed offers a bit more comfort or cushioning so if that’s more important then it may be the better choice for at home use.

Does this pump can be used for Picture of Coleman Dura Sleep Queen Dble-High Airbed Dura Sleep Queen Dble-High Airbed - Video Coleman Dura Sleep Queen Dble-High Airbed?1 answer

Hi there, I want to buy 1 queen size and 1 double size air bed. Just wondering whether the pump in this Aerobed is usable for the coleman Dura Sleep Queen Dble-High Airbed. Thank you.

- ACT(7 months ago)

G'day Anjar,

I've just spoken with Coleman and they have told me that unfortunately you can't use the pump from the Aerobed Airbed on the Dura Sleep Airbed as they have a different connection.

Looking for a mattress for occasional outings in the tent. How durable is the aerobed? Dont want to get caught out with a cheap air mattress again and end up on the floor. Are the camping mats such as the blackwolf double worth the extra expense? 1 answer

- Hervey Bay(1 year ago)
Hey Bruce, as with any inflatable product there is always a risk of puncture so a level of care is required in use, but the Aerobed is a good quality product. The benefits of the self -inflating mats such as the Mega Deluxe is the insulation they provide, of which airbeds provide none, and the added benefit in that if they do happen to get a puncture you still have some padding and insulation to sleep on until such time that it can be repaired. I sleep far better on a self inflating mat that an airbed, but there is a larger dollar investment for these.
