A comet lights up the night sky, which is also what the 25-Watt Comet Campsite Light from OZtrail does. This easy to assemble, lighting system will provide you with enough illumination for your whole campsite.
Featuring a super bright 2800 lumen LED light with an aluminium reflector for focused illumination. The light is elevated from a collapsible and adjustable fibreglass pole connected to a power cord with a car plug. The 5m long power cord lets you extend the light to where you need it, and the variable dimmer switch allows for light diffusion. There are also Velcro fasteners for securing, and a sand spike for easy off vehicle mounting.
The OZtrail Comet Campsite Light is the perfect lighting solution for large family camping expeditions, fishing trips, or off-road recovery scenarios.

Use via 240v power adaptor / USB?1 answer
Hi -- 2 questions... 1. Can this be used via a 240v power adaptor / supply, if so, do you have a recommendation? 2. Can it be used via USB (i.e converting it from 12v to USB)? Do you have any advice here also? Thanks for your help.

G'day Nathan,
The Oztrail 25W Comet 12V Campsite light is a 12v light and comes with provisions to run off a 12v source only. It may be possible for you to run this from 240v, but you would need a suitable 240v to 12v transformer. I don't see any way this could be run off USB sorry.

How weatheproof is the light?1 answer
Can we leave it out overnight? If it rains will it be ok?
BJ - Cairns(5 years ago)
G'day BJ,
It's probably not a good idea to leave this light out in wet weather. They haven't specified a water or dust rating so we think the best bet will be to keep it out of the weather.

Adjustable height?1 answer
Hi, The specs say the pole is collapsible and adjustable. Wondering if that is height adjustability; in case I need something less than 4 metres in height?
Mike - POTTSVILLE(5 years ago)
G'day Mike,
I've just checked with one of our staff who has the Comet light and they've said that the pole is a little like a fishing rod, and can really only be effectively used when extended to full length. He tends to leave the pole behind and just hang the light from a tree. He did mention that the EPE LED Area Light has a slightly more adjustable pole option.

Use with 240V transformer1 answer
Could you please advise if this light is suitable to use with the Korr Lighting 240V to 12V Transformer so it can be used of the mains. Thanks
Jayne - Cliversale(6 years ago)
G'day Jayne,
If you're wanting to run the 25W Comet 12V Campsite Light from 240V then you'll be able to run it using the Korr 240V to 12V Transformer.

Dimming Options3 answers
How many 'steps' (light levels) does the dimmer module have? Does the lowest dimmer setting reduce the current drawn by the lamp draws and if so to what figure?
Craig S - Zillmere(6 years ago)
G'day Craig,
I've just double checked the dimmer switch on the Oztrail 25W Comet light and there aren't specific levels, it adjusts with a wheel so you can get it just right! Oztrail doesn't specify that the current draw changes with the lower light level.
Leece - Snowys(6 years ago)
Under test, the full brightness dimmer setting had a current draw of 2.6A and it dropped proportionally down to near zero amps as the dimmer dial approached the off position. Very handy for conserving battery capacity.

G'day Craig,
Thanks for testing it out and letting us know, we'll pop your answer up online for other customers too :)
