Hi Snowys. When camping without a power source, is it possible to use this product like an ice box? I.E will putting bags of ice into the fridge. Thanks in advance

Securing in a Prado 1501 answer

What is the best way to secure a 60L Engel in the back of a 2022 VX Prado without the need for false floors etc (and without having to remove the 3rd row seats)?

Assuming you have the fold-down seats, you could potentially use the anchor or lock points for the seats on the floor to tie down to.
Some people also use the child/car seat anchor points as well. Use some kind of tie-down/ratchet straps and potentially a few heavy duty carabineers which should allow quick and easy removal of the tie-downs when required.

We don't have any way to test this out for you, and Engel doesn't have an official decibel level for their fridges. There does seem to be a few 4WD and caravan based forums around where users have come up with some ballpark figures using rudimentary equipment, so it'd be worth having a look at those if you're interested.

I have an Engel Battery box with a Posi Fit socket and a cig lighter connection. Will the Engel 60litre plug into the Posi Fit socket?

Yes, the 12V cable supplied with the fridge has a cigarette tip that can be unscrewed to reveal the Posi Fit connection to connect to your Posi Fit socket.

The fridges come to us in some fairly heavy-duty boxes with a fair amount of packing foam, so we'd recommend ensuring it is well protected if you're planning to have your fridge freighted interstate.

Use solely as a Freezer?1 answer

Can I use all the available 60L AS A freezer rather than freezer/fridge combo? Those the answer also apply to the smaller 40L unit?

Yes, you can run the MT-V60F solely as a freezer, or solely as a fridge. This also applies to the smaller 40L version. If you opt for the Combi version of the 40L or 60L then they can only be used in the combined configuration of half fridge, half freezer. Hopefully this clarifies it for you.
