Does Zippo fuel work well below freezing? or is it like Butane fuel lighters that don't?
G'day Ruth,
Zippo fuel can be affected by cold weather but it still performs better than standard butane. If its below 0 degrees celsius then you may find that zippo fuel becomes harder to vaporize and burn - you may just need to top up your fuel more regularly in colder weather.
Whqat type of fuel does it use . Eg Shellite
G'day Michael,
This uses Zippo specific lighter fluid, which is made up of a petroleum distillate or synthetic isoparaffinic hydrocarbon known as naphtha. Generally, you could get away with other generic lighter fluid in a pinch, but it is recommended to stick to Zippo fluid wherever possible.
