The 4.2 BlockOut Shade Dome with Sunwall by OZtrail throws serious shade without the attitude.
From downpour to drought, OZtrail’s BlockOut coated, seam-sealed, heavy-duty 75-denier canopy blocks direct sunlight and reduces heat, supported by a full steel frame. In humidity, control airflow throughout the space thanks to the zippered roof vent, while a 1000mm water rating and seam-sealed canopy resists rain on the damper days too. Campsite courtship isn’t dead, thanks to steel shock-cord poles enabling an easy two-person set-up in only minutes - so you can be settled with a snag by sundown. Storage pockets allow for keeping your stuff nearby, with space wallets, keys, and phones. Plus, bask in those blissful backyard barbeques with an additional sunwall for protection from UV, wind - or even the public.

Staff tip:Whilst this shelter has waterproof properties, it should not be relied upon during periods of heavy rain.
Staff tip:To prevent UV damage that isn't covered under warranty, avoid leaving your shelter set up for extended periods in the sun.To avoid damage in windy weather make sure you secure your shelter with all peg points and guy ropes.
Staff tip:The BlockOut material can present a 'speckle' effect, allowing some light to pass through. This is normal due to the process of applying the dark coating, which is designed to block up to 95% of light.

Can you explain what the rope or tape or material is that joins the four feet? Is this always in place? Must it be used? Looks like a massive trip hazard? Is this right?

G'day Warren,
These are the tensioning straps. They are designed to help support the structure of the shelter, and are very common in products of this design. We haven't heard of them ever being a tripping hazard. They clip together on one side but aren't removable without cutting them off, which would void warranty.

Long term camping use1 answer
Hi, I am on a bad run of gazebo purchases and I would like to get your expert opinion on the long term usage of this shelter. Specifically the build quality and durability in both wind and heavier rain situations. Having a larger space for us is great, but the key consideration will be whether this is the best option, that can cope with NSW adverse camping conditions. If you have any hints or tips on this or other options, it would be hugely appreciated. Thanks

Theres no gazebo's on the market that are designed for a long term camping trip - camping gear is designed ultimately as occassional use equipment, so its rare to find anything like a tent or gazebo that will last longer than a month or two of permenant use.
Perhaps you can give us more of an idea of what "long term camping use" means? Are you talking about continuos periods of time, or just gear that you want to have and use on & off for years?
