Is this a 28mm diameter plug?

Is the 2.8cm measurement taken from the edge of the O ring...ie Max diameter? Ours is 2.8 O ring diameter and 2.5cm thread diameter.. will this fit?

I have just checked these and the O-ring and total diameter of the bung comes to 2.8cm and the thread itself is closer to 2.5cm, it sounds like that should fit!

Yes, most jerry cans will use a standard size bung, however, it's hard to confirm without being able to physically check this against yours.
