Massive living space for big families on extended stays, the Outdoor Connection Galaxy Plus offers three big rooms plus a mesh vestibule on the side for the ultimate in family camping. The hybrid steel/fibreglass pole system creates strength and stability whilst maintaining internal space.
With sleeping room for up to 15 people, the Galaxy Plus provides enough space in each room to comfortably fit a queen mattress plus space to move. Internal dividers and internal window and door covers provide privacy while four doors enable independent access to each room from the outside and combine with no-see-um mesh windows on the inner for superior ventilation.
Six adjustable awning poles are supplied for use in any combination of external door covers to create a shade awning or one extra-long verandah along the sides. Add extra poles and you can have shade all around the Galaxy Plus.
Finished off with door locks, three power cord access points, numerous internal organizer pockets and a heavy-duty floor, the Outdoor Connection Galaxy Plus is a spacious tent with a quality build.
Hi, can you keep the awnings up at night like the galaxy model? In the pictures it doesn’t look like there is another solid window you could pull form.
G'day Kellie,
I've just had a chat with Outdoor Connection about their Galaxy Plus Family Dome Tent. The main 3 rooms of the tent have internal privacy screens but the front sunroom doesn't. So if you wanted that front room to be closed off, then you'd need to release the awning that covers that part of the tent.
can the front fly room on the plus be unzipped/removed? or is it fixed to the rest of the tent?
G'day Naomi,
The front fly room of the Outdoor Connection Galaxy Plus Family Dome Tent is connected to the main part of the tent and cannot be removed.
Is the fly over the tent separate from the tent?
G'day Jenny,
I've just checked this with the tent experts on the floor, and yes the Galaxy Plus Family Dome Tent has a fully detachable fly.
Does the fly cover the sun room completely with no netting exposure
G'day Jenny,
I've just checked this with the information provided by Outdoor Connection, and it looks like you will be able to close off the sunroom as the awning extends around it.
Hi Team, I would like to purchase this tent and at the same time order some of the oztrail ultra mesh tarp to suit. Looking as a floor covering (not under the entire tent) but to come out approx 1m from the front door/opening and across the front of the tent. Could you please recommend best size? Many thanks!
G'day Kirsten,
Great question. To do what you'd like to do, from what I can understand, you'll need about 3.4m (out to the front) x 7.2m (across the width of the tent) of coverage. Unfortunately, the biggest Ultramesh Tarp is 3.65m x 6.1m so that will come up a bit short but could still definitely work. Alternatively, you could buy 2x 3.65m x 3.65m Ultramesh Tarps and then join them in the middle?
Fantastic thanks so much!
Hey guys, what's the wind and weather rating like on this one?
G'day Zac,
The Galaxy Plus Family Dome Tent doesn't have a wind or weather rating, so I've just spoken to Outdoor Connection to get a little bit more info for you.
The Galaxy Plus doesn't have a wind rating because it's hard to measure it accurately. If a tent is tested a wind tunnel, it won't be the same conditions as when the tent is set up outside where the wind can come from any direction. So, this is why the Outdoor Connection tents don't have a wind rating.
We have a lot of confidence in the Outdoor Connection tents, and as long as they're are pegged properly with the guy ropes secured - they will hold up to wind well.
Are the doors either end and the photo just has the flaps zipped down?
G'day Craig,
That's right - basically, the four entry points oppose each other in a cross shape so you have plenty of access options.
Can you purchase a galaxy and buy upgrades later to become this tent or are they different beasts?
G'day Mark,Â
The Galaxy and Galaxy Plus tents are separate models, the main difference between the two is that the Galaxy Plus is larger as it has four rooms whereas the Galaxy has three.Â
Hi J, the internal rooms do have zippered divider doors that can be stored aside when not in use. The Galaxy Plus has both a mesh and solid door so you’ll have plenty of privacy as well as the option of ventilation.
