Are these bags very noisy? Say if they were to be used directly on a blackwolf self inflating mat? Compared to a soft touch poly outer bag. Thanks
G'day Brooke,
I wouldn't say so - we've had quite a few reviews on this one as well, and noise isn't an issue that anyone has seemed to raise.
I could very much depend on the mattress combo, but if you had any issues it would easily be addressed by using a fitted sheet or blanket.
I wish to join 2 of these bags together as mentioned in another answer here. My zipper is on the left when laying in the bag so that means I now need to buy a right zipper bag? Is this correct?
G'day Matt,
Generally, the zip orientation is from the perspective of being inside the bag - so it sounds like you do have a left-hand side bag, and need a right-hand zipper bag for your second one.
Hope that helps!
What is the purpose of the two zips on the sleeping ba?
G'day Collette,
One runs along the foot so you can open up the base of the bag to help with temperature control, the other one runs along one side so you can get in and out.
Wether or not you choose a left zip or a right zip bag just comes down to personal preference.
I just bought an Oztrail Treksmart 2 sleeping bag and the zipper broke immediately (Ironically advertised as "snag free"). How robust is the zipper on this bag?
We can only really go by feedback when it comes to long term reliability of items like zippers, and by all accounts, we have not had any issues with the zippers on these bags, Joe.
If a product has a recurring issue we generally pull it from our range as it just becomes a headache for both us and our customers.
Can you join a left zipped and a right zipped sleeping together (this model)
G'day Angus,
I've just given this a whirl, and I can confirm that you can zip together two Deploy 1300s as long as one has a left zipper, and one has a right zipper.
Does that mean i can be opened out into a blanket if desired?
G'day Paul,
Yep! The Caribee Deploy 1300 Compact Sleeping Bag can be opened up like a blanket by unzipping 1 side zip, and the foot zip. Being a tapered rectangle it wont make a squared off quilt, but it will do the trick!
