You’ll feel like you’re sleeping on a cushiony cloud with the Darche Cold Mountain 900 Sleeping Bag. This model was designed for the hunter, fisher or adventurer who likes the extra space and a dreamy night’s sleep even in rough weather conditions.
The outer shell is made from water-resistant polyester with dual zips for easy access, and with 2 layers of fibre filling, you’re going to stay warm all night. The inside liner feels like silk to the touch, and the 3D collar and wind baffle will protect you from an icy breeze. There’s also an internal pocket to keep any valuables or useful tools like a torch or your phone at hand.
For an extremely roomy high-performance sleeping bag, you can’t go past the Darche Cold Mountain.
zippers are super hard to do up without catching the material in, will probably destroy it the first night I try to zip it up after a few drinks :o The zippers undo themselves through the night. Also the 900 size should be used only by people who sleep like they are doing a pin drop off a cliff. I think the average human would die spending a night in -12 degree temperatures. Not worth the asking price but useable in temperatures down to around zero.
Most sleeping bag zippers will catch from time to time Neil, the trick is to run your finger in front of the zipper, parting/clearing the fabric away from the zipper as you go. As for the temperature range, we wouldn't recommend using it in -12 temperatures, but overall we have had good feedback on the warmth of these bags, sorry your experience wasn't in line with others. ~ Ben
Great sleeping bag. I am a big man (193 cm) and I have finally found a sleeping bag that fits me. I have never seen a bag that is as long as this one I can finally stretch out and not be all screwed up and sleep poorly over night. This is a very well made bag and for only $99 delivered i cannot recommend this bag more highly. If you are looking for a well made long and cheep sleeping bag that will keep you very warm in even the coldest night you can’t go past this one
super comfy and warm, especially for the price.
I purchased this bag for my daughter 8 who feels the cold. Great product with dual zippers. The head section was very comfy. For the price that Snowys sells it, I consider it good value. I matched it with a Zempire Bomberpad Camp Mattress.
spent three nights at hillocks drive in my jet tent bunker and this sleeping bag was great going to purchase a second this weekend cheers
Back from 7 days away on the bike, slept out each night in my stretcher tent, some light rain & cool nights, love this sleeping bag.
An excellent bag. Fast delivery. Very happy.
I'm 6'3 wide shoulders and fits me well, would not recommend the wide sleeping bag if you need this in below 0 deg C and sleeping solo. The wider bags would allow warm air to be blown out when you move around when you're solo and have more dead space inside taking longer to warm up. I'm a cold sleeper and need a warm sleeping bag. I slept in approx 20 nights lowest was down to 2 deg C; (confirmed with device) was warm with good sleeping mat (using Exped Mega Mat). I know for me -5 would be the absolute coldest I'd want to be in this bag. Bought on sale for $99. Very good price for my purpose.
Awesome bag great value
Broke first night of our trip. Rubbish product.
Oh no! I'm sorry to hear Dave - this comes as a bit of a shock as these are known to be practically bomb proof. Please give us a call (1300 914 007), we'd like to know more and hopefully fix the problem. Laine :)
Any details on when this will be available in June 2018?
The Darche Cold Mountain 900 Sleeping Bag -12 is due back in stock early June so we expect to see them in store by the 15th of June.
can the Cold Mtn 900 be zipped to the Cold Mtn 1100 to back a bigger double ? Thanks
Having just had a quick look at our display models of the Darche Cold Mountain 900 & 1100 Sleeping Bags, I don't reckon you'll have too many issues at all with zipping them together to create a larger bag.
With the old cold mountain (green/camo colour) you could zip two of them together, provided 1 was a left zip and the other was a right zip. Can you zip the new orange style together? If so, are there 'left' and 'right' models?
You can indeed zip two Darche Cold Mountain 900 Sleeping Bags together. You don't need to have a left and right-hand zipper bag, just use one as the bottom and one as the top.
Does it have a separate zip so the bottom can be open with the sides remaining zipped? Also, goes it have a zip on each side or just one side? Thanks
It is possible just to open the bottom of the Darche Cold Mountain 900 Sleeping Bag and it has dual zips meaning that you have full length zips on each side of the sleeping bag.
can it be opened completely to resemble a normal doona?
The Darche Cold Mountain 900 Sleeping Bag -12° comes with a full-length zipper allowing you to open the bag up like a doona. However, just be mindful that as it comes with a hood, that may get in the way if you're trying to use it as a doona.
When I lay in it it feels awesome but I'm not sure if the filling moves around inside the bag itself
The hollow fibre synthetic filling inside the Darche Cold Mountain Sleeping Bag shouldn't move. Basically, what you have is two separate sheets of synthetic fill that are stitched to the baffles of the outer liner and inner liner of the sleeping bag with an air gap through the middle. This is all part of creating the insulation required in allowing the bag to stay warm all the way down to -12C.
If I had 2 of these, can they zip together to make a double?
You certainly can zip two the Cold Mountain 900 sleeping bags together, you just need to make sure you have a left and a right hand style.
