Useful easy store and set up product. I made two small improvements. Cut a centre hole (for plastic decomposing poo bag) in a old rubber mat and sat the dunny tin on the rubber mat so it does not sink in sand. Attaching thin strip of timber just outside the groved slot makes it easier to guide sit top on the tin sides.

great little crapper

Easy to use, much better than doing without, height is good and folds away flat.

Not as big and sturdy as I thought it would be

This is a great little dunny. I made a wooden frame for it to sit on and it's perfect. It sits over the hole neatly and no flies can get in. It proved to be a very popular site to visit on our last camping expedition. It's a permanent fixture on the property now and the great thing is that it can easily be moved when the hole is full.

Some serious gotchas

The bottom edge, being thin, sinks into sandy ground easily, becoming unstable. The opening is too small making it hard to wipe yourself. The hinged top gets in the way and is likely to snap off. Better than squatting over a pit, but not by much. Not recommended for sandy/soft ground.

putting a bag in1 answer

how do you use a bag with this

Hi Keith, these come with some some bags, but we have not been able to find after market replacements. We recommend purchasing large biodegradable bin liners from a supermarket large enough to fit over a 40 x 40cm box.
