Blue cable connection1 answer

I have a MY22 Triton, as these don't have a smart alternator, do I still require to connect the blue cable to a 10V source or can it be used without?

G'day Matthew,

No, you do not need to connect the blue wire to a 10v source with a standard (non-smart) alternator; the wire is for activating the unit in smart alternator systems and can be left disconnected in this scenario. Connecting the blue wire to a switched ignition source is only necessary for vehicles with smart alternators to ensure the DC-DC charger activates when the engine is running and turns off when the engine stops.
