Not to be negative Nancy, but there is always a chance that a hike can go wrong – which is why you need to be prepared for what the elements might throw at you. You’re going to need things like a compass, multi-tool, first aid supplies and an emergency blanket for warmth – like this one from Elemental.
An emergency blanket will reflect the heat back to your body keeping your warm in rough conditions and is also useful for creating a signal in the event of a rescue. Made from aluminised cik-stretch polyester, this blanket will stay flexible even in freezing conditions so it’s going to perform well even under harsh conditions.
This blanket is the perfect size to slip into your pocket or with the rest of your emergency stash – so make sure you’re not without it for your first aid kit or emergency outdoor stash.

Double sided?1 answer
I’ve always used the SOL branded blankets that have an orange side (cool) & silver side (heat). Are these single or double sided ie: does it matter which way faces your body for heat reflection?
Purrito - Melbourne, VIC (1 year ago)
G'day Purrito,
No, this one isn't double-sided, it's just a very basic form of emergency blanket for use in the cold. It doesn't matter which way you use it. Hope that helps!

comes in a plastic pack?1 answer
Hi. The photo on your website shows the space blanket without any packaging. I assume it comes sealed in a plastic bag? These things float around in the pack / first aid kit for years and need a bit of protection ...
Tony - Chatswood, VIC(3 years ago)
G'day Tony,
Yep, absolutely. The Emergency Survival Blanket comes in packaging, so you can pop it into your first aid kit and it will stay 'new' until required.
