how do I work out what height the poles are suited to ?
The longer the better for someone of 6'4", Janice. These have a maximum length of 140cm which should be fine for most terrain, but when walking downhill it can be nice to extend them out to their maximum. You can use the 'Max. Length' filter on our website to find the longest poles in our range. The Leki Trail Anti Shock Soft Strap poles are priced similarly to the Black Diamond Trail and extend out to 145cm. There are a few others all at different price points too. I hope this helps.
Hi team, Can you please help me understand the difference between these and the trail back poles from a real world use perspective?
G'day JB,
The major difference between both poles is in the handle. The Black Diamond Trail Trekking Poles uses a Non Slip Foam Handle with a Padded Strap. The Black Diamond Trail Back uses a Rubber Handle with Nylon Strap.
