Great for connecting to awning

I use this to connect my Oztent to my 4x4 pull out awning. Give us a great undercover area out of the sun and rain. Worked great on our recent Cape York trip.

Best product!

Love this connector. We use this to join our ARB awning off the ute to our RV-4. Brilliant to combine everything together.

Oz Tent Caravan Connector

This connector works but be aware it is mainly suited to the RV-5, not Tag-a-long.
we had ours modified by an upholsterer as the velcro flap was pointing up, not down and let water in. we just had the zipper reversed and all is fine now.
great delivery and service from Snowys.

Connecting rv5 to a foxwing1 answer

Can you remove the awning on the rv5 and the connect it directly to a foxwing. I no the tagalong can but the rv5 tagalone would be to small 2.6 x 1.8 and the rv5 is 2.6 x 2.6

- 5096(5 months ago)

G'day Steve,

Unfortunately, the awning of the RV5 is stitched on so it's unable to be removed. To connect an RV5 to a Foxwing, you will need to use the awning and then an additional Oztent Awning Connector available here. Or as you've already pointed out, use the Tagalong which while unfortunately a little smaller, is better designed for your idea.

Caravan Connector1 answer

Hi Ben I have a JV signature edition tent and would like to connect it to the roll out awning of our caravan when we say for a while with the grandkids. Will this work and if so what size connector will I need.

- ADELAIDE, SA(1 year ago)
Hi Rob, the JV Series Oztent has an awning that measures 2.4 metres in width, so the RV3/4 Caravan Connector it the right accessory here. It will connect to your caravan awning provided the awning has a sail track to slide the connector into, it will then zip onto the awning of your JV Series Oztent. I hope this answers your question.

caravan connector1 answer

Hi I have a tag a long tent rv3/4 can i connect this tent to the awning of my 4wd which has a sail track using the caravan connector , the awning i got is 2.5 meters wide. Will this work?

- ADELAIDE, SA(1 year ago)
G'day Les - Should work like a charm. You'll need the Caravan Connector to attach to the sail track on your 4WD and then zip on your Tagalong. You'll just need to adjust the height of your awning to suit the Tagalong. Size wise - your tent is 2.4m wide and your awning 2.5m, so it should fit well. Hope that helps. Cheers, Paul

Awning side walls1 answer

Can the caravan connector be connected to my Toyota Hi Ace van with the awning side walls attached? Do I need a roof rack for the rail? Many thanks Dave

- MCCRAE, VIC(1 year ago)
Hi Dave, the caravan connector is the strip of fabric between the awning and the caravan/sail track. It slides into the sail track on one side, and has a zipper on the other that is compatible with the awning of Oztent RV tents. It will work on your van if you have a standard sail track at roughly the width of your Oztent. If your van does not have a sail track then you would need to have one fitted through a caravan or 4WD agent, I am not sure what the best method would be for this. I hope this makes sense, give us a call if you need further clarification - 1300 914 007.

awning connector 1 answer

Thanks for that. So I want to use just the awning connector and a tarp/cover to make a shaded area next to the car without the JV oztent. ....Do I detach the front awning (detachable?) from the JV oztent or buy another oztent awning for this purpose thanks MAnuel

- brisbane(1 year ago)
You might be best calling us about this one Manny, I don't quite understand what you are trying to achieve. It doesn't sound like you need an awning connector for your purpose. Give us a ring on 1300 914 007 and we'll try and help you out with a solution.

attach to 4wd1 answer

hi there, can this be attached to a 4wd? We would like something that is stand alone so that we can pull up anywhere on the beach, put up a couple of poles and create a shaded area next top the car. We already have a JV signature oztent and if it connects with this then that is a binus, thanks Manny

- , brisbane(1 year ago)
You'll need two things for this to work Manny. Firstly, your 4WD will need a sail track to attach the caravan connector to. The Caravan Connector has a rope sewn into one side to fit standard sail tracks, and a zipper on the other to attach to the end of your JV Tent awning. Secondly you need the Caravan Connector, and given the different dimensions of the JV Awning you'll actually need the Oztent RV3/4 Caravan Connector (search for item code 24506 on our website). I hope this answers your question, please don't hesitate to call if this does not make sense - 1300 914 007.

Connecting to camper1 answer

Hi there. Might seem like a "duh!" question, but can you please tell me how this operates? Do you attached it to the van first, then zip on the tent, or somehow manoeuvre the whole thing into place onto the van? Also is there a bit of extra rope on each end to secure it to the van? thanks :-)

- Lennox Head(1 year ago)
Hi Catherine, Not a silly question at all, especially if you haven't used these before. The caravan connector is best set up onto your caravan first. This is done by sliding it onto the railing until it sits where you like. Then setup your tent in front of this area and before pegging it down or setting up the awning, zip the awning onto the connector. After the tent is connected you can then setup the awning properly and peg out the tent and guy ropes. You won't need any rope to tie the connector to the caravan as the railing holds it in place. As soon as you've done it once it'll be easy to set up from then on.
