Excellent product

I purchased this bottle to take on a three week trip through south-east Africa. Travellers are advised not to drink the water in Africa, even tap water, and I didn't want to buy bottled water everywhere - so I took this LifeStraw bottle instead. It performed as well as I hoped; I drank the tap water in Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique and South Africa and never got sick. I drank river water (Lower Zambezi), only the one time, and still no problems. The bottle never leaked. One time it was making a noisy sound as I drank, but I realised I didn't have the spout all the way open, as soon as I corrected that, the noise stopped. The outside of the bottle is no longer new and shiny, it's quite scratched and scuffed, but you have to expect that when you're in rough conditions. Overall I am very happy with the bottle and have genuine confidence in it.
PS. I'll also add that Snowy's delivered the bottle really fast, so I appreciated that. Will buy from them again.

Handy filter

Filter appears to work well, tasteless water from water tank. Not sure as to effectiveness but so far so good. Only issue is that this only works as a personal filter, no decanting of water for others unless they share the bottle, but that is what this is all about. Only four stars as it leaks if laid flat, for some reason the nozzle does not seal completely, other than that it seems to do just what it says.
Oh yes snowys service was excellent, replacing my order when it was lost in delivery, no questions asked, cannot thank the team enough.

Decanting water for cooking1 answer

Is it possible to decant filtered water from the bottle for cooking?

- Eureka(5 months ago)

G'day Peter,

Long story short, not really, no. The LifeStraw Go 2 Stage Water Filter Bottle is designed to have the water sucked through the straw. Unless you were planning on sucking and spitting the water, the only option would be to let gravity do its thing and that would result in the water dripping at absolute best, so it would only drive you nuts.

Water Taste1 answer

Hi there I purchased this bottle (x 3 of them) and I can't use it due to the bad plastic taste. I have repeatedly rinsed the cartridge and the taste is still there. Can you offer any suggestions? Many thanks

G'day Cilla,

We've recently written a blog about cleaning bottles like the LifeStraw Go 2 Stage Water Filter Bottle. Hopefully, we'll find a solution in the blog. You can find it here.

Comparison1 answer

Hi, can you please tell me the difference between the Go and the Go 2?

- Sydney(10 months ago)

G'day Nerida,

Excellent question, I actually didn't know myself so I've just gone down to suss them both out. The LifeStraw Go 2 Stage Water Filter Bottle has a two-stage filtration system, whereas the standard Go Water Filter Bottle just has the one. Both bottles have a hollow fibre membrane which removes 99.9999% of bacteria and 99.9% of protozoa. The Go 2 Stage Water Filter Bottle also has a second stage, which is an activated carbon capsule. This capsule reduces chlorine, reduces bad odour & taste, and reduces organic chemical matter such as herbicides or pesticides.
