Do they flex?1 answer
I need to replace a pole for my double swag, will these flex enough to do the job?
Brendan - Oxley(1 year ago)
There is some degree of flex in these poles, however generally not enough for swag repairs. We'd generally recommend trying to get your hands on the specific replacement poles for your swag, or altering some aluminium swag poles to fit if there are none available for your model.

How is the flex vs Coleman fibreglass?1 answer
Hey team, I need to replace some poles For my Coleman Montana 12. I broke 1 section ages ago and replaced It with a ‘budget’ option. Despite being cut to the same size as the piece it replaced, it didn’t have the same degree of flex. Result after a week in pretty blowy conditions is the pressure ended 2 other sections of the original poles as well. Keen to find a suitable replacement. Cheers
Nate - Canberra(1 year ago)
It's hard to say for certain whether or not the issue would be caused by the lack of flex or something else. We carry out repairs here in the store with both the COI poles, and Oztrail Dueplus Pole Repair kits, and haven't really encountered issues with either option. It might be worth trying the Duraplus Kit instead to see if that makes a difference.

Coleman Ridgeline 2P Hiking Tent1 answer
Just needing a pole replacement for this tent and unsure what size I should get. Any info would be appreciated!
Jasmine - 5606(2 years ago)
The Ridgeline poles are aluminium so these fibreglass replacement poles, unfortunately, won't do the trick unless you're replacing the entire pole. If so, you could go for any diameter but the 7.9mm or 9mm will probably suit best.

Hi, I have a Coleman 9 CV Family Dome tent and I need replacement poles1 answer
What are the four sizes available of this product?1 answer
Need to know the sizes so that we can work out if this product will be suitable.
Brenda - OAK FLATS(2 years ago)
If you click in the box where is says 'Choose from 4 sizes' it should give you a drop-down menu. The sizes listed are the diameter of the pole, 7.9mm, 9mm, 11mm and 13mm. Each pole section is approximately 60cm long.

how do you put them together?1 answer
would like to know how you put the ends on
Rosemary Wilson - Benalla(4 years ago)
The Kookburra Fibreglass Tent Poles are designed to be used to fix broken pole sections on longer dome style tent poles. They connect through the centre with shock cord and connect into small pin and loop on the tent.

Replacement tent rods1 answer
I have a kookaburra traveller 3ev tent in need of all new rods. Can you help please
Ann Capell - Nepean Bay South Australia(4 years ago)
I've just spoken to Companion who are the brand that make Kookaburra, and they're not certain that the replacement fibreglass tent poles from Kookaburra will fit your tent.
They don't have any stock of replacement poles for the Traveller 3V anymore. However, if you still have your old poles then they might be able to compare them to other stock they have to see if it will fit.
If you could send us an email - email@example.com with images attached of all of the poles that you do have, and let us know the length, width and amount of sections - then we can forward it to Companion and see if they have anything that will work.

Measuring diametre1 answer
Hi. Do I measure the diametre of the pole itself or the alloy end piece? Also Are the pole lengths 60cm?
Cam - Greensborough (4 years ago)
When measuring your poles to see which Kookaburra Fibreglass Tent Poles you need, measure the pole itself as opposed to the end piece. Also, yes the pole lengths are each 60cm.

irregular tent pole lengths1 answer
Hi, I have a Kookaburra 6EV tent and all the fibreglass poles have bent over time. Some are even snapped inside the metal sleeve at one end. There are 3 poles involved. Notwithstanding the bends in the total length as I lie them on the floor, two poles are 6.22m in total length (main tent) and one pole is 4.62m in total length (annex). I have looked on eBay and cannot find anywhere with these lengths. Since you seem to deal in Kookaburra, can you (or can you suggest anyone who can) make these lengths up for me? I work in Canberra, so postcode in 2602 (to determine postage).
Alex - Canberra(5 years ago)
When it comes to fixing fibreglass poles you won't find them sold in varying lengths, instead, you need to buy a kit and cut them to length. The first thing you will need to do it work out the diameter and number of pole sections you need. Then purchase the kits (FREE DELIVERY to Canberra from Snowys), grab a hacksaw and some patience and start fixing your poles.
It's a fiddly job, but nothing difficult, just make sure you use a sharp fine toothed hacksaw blade and use a file to bevel the edges to keep it neat and reduce the chance of further breakages.
If you want to upgrade the quality of the poles, I'd recommend the Oztrail Duraplus pole kits, these feature an extra wrap over the fibreglass which strengthens and extends the life of the pole section.
I hope this is helpful, it would be an expensive exercise if we were to make them up for you, give us a call on 1300 914 007 if you have any further questions.

How do I make up a new pole for my tent?1 answer
I have a tent with two poles. Each pole has 5 segments and a total length of 2530mm when assembled. Both poles fractured at one end with the rod splitting from the end length wise. Crack about 15 cm long.
Leon - Ningi(5 years ago)
The first thing you'll need to do is figure out the width of your poles so you can get the choose poles with the correct diameter, and get your hands on some shock cord that’s roughly 75% the length of the assembled pole with the correct diameter.
If you're having trouble, you can always give us a call and one of the Snowys team will be happy to talk you through the whole process.

Tent poles required1 answer
I have a 2person spinifex hawkesbury dome tent that is missing its poles.
Can you pls advise which poles would work for this tent.
Amanda - Kingston (6 years ago)
Unfortunately I'm not familiar with that tent Amanda, being an Anaconda branded tent, however most of the smaller dome tents that we stock here have either the 7.9mm or 9mm poles.

Hi Snowy's, I have two 6.25m long "Rough It" tent poles that have been snapped at the join. Do you have any that we could purchase to replace these?1 answer
Kylie - Duncraig, WA(6 years ago)
'm not familiar with these poles sorry Kylie. The only reference to "Rough It" I can find is a tent sold by Big W so I assume this is what you are referring to, in which case we would most likely have something to get you out of trouble. You can't buy complete sets of sectional fibreglass poles if that is what you are looking for, you would need to buy a number of sections and cut them to length. We would also need to know the diameter and number of sections the existing poles have to recommend anything. Give us a call, it may be easier to identify something over the phone - 1300 914 007, one of our sales team will be able to help you.

Hi Snowys, We've inherited a Timberline 6 person Regal Dome tent without any poles. What would you sell us?1 answer
Em - KUNUNURRA, WA(6 years ago)
I'm not familiar with the Timberline tent sorry Em, and the pole diameter may be determined on the way in which the poles fit the tent at the ends, as well as considering any plastic clips that fit over them. If I had to hazard a guess, I would say you need about 11mm diameter, and approximately 8 sections for each required pole. You would need to cut these to size trying to make each pole section roughly the same length. Sorry I couldn't be of much help, I can't seem to find any information for them online either.

I've lost my tent poles for my kookaburra discovery EV 6 person tent. Do you know what I need to replace them?1 answer
Paul - BUNBURY, WA(6 years ago)
I've tried to find this tent in our catalogues and online to locate the specs on the poles for you, but unfortunately I've come up empty handed.
If you could give us a rough dimension of the floor space we could recommend a pole set for you.
I assume it is a 6 person tent? If that's the case you'll be looking at a tent pole with a wider diameter to hold up the weight of the tent, maybe a 9.5mm or 11mm depending if it's the main cross section or if it's one of the side poles.
At this stage that's what I can recommend without being able to see the tent or being able to find any other stats for you at this point in time.
I recommend calling us on 1300 914 007 if you'd like to talk it over with one of our friendly and knowledgable staff.
