This will quite possibly be the absolute best thing in your camp kit for summer. The Coleman Rechargeable Fan with LED 8” is a compact powerhouse of air movement.
Operates quietly on two different fan speeds directly from 12V, 240V or go wireless with the inbuilt rechargeable battery so you can use it in your tent, under your awning, or even in your house.
Also equipped with independently operating LED lights, and a rotating front face, the Coleman Rechargeable Camping Fan is a summer camper's best friend.
Happy with fan! Helped us through 2 hot nights in caravan.
Charged the fan for 24 hrs then let it run on low until it ran flat. Ran for eight hours or so. It's quiet on low and creates a nice breeze. Taking it camping for 10 days so will see how we go on the house battery. Happy with it so far & Snowys service was great.
Other than the charge light never going out when charging, it works well
Very quick to be dispatched & fast courier
The fan I ordered is great. Just what I wanted packaged good and to deal with This company is excellent.
Thank you Snowys!! Delivery was prompt and the fans were well packed. They are remarkable fans - I now have 4 and use them at home as well. Last a long time on low and doesn't blow a gale - just a gentle quiet breeze. I use them all the time, both in our motorhome and at home - no longer have to drag fans on cords between the kitchen, lounge and bedroom. Other alternative is to have the aircon on all the time or to have five stationery fans around with cords that are unsightly. So very happy, might buy a few more for gifts !!!
It works very well. Looking forward to using it in our rooftop tent when we go camping. Thanks for the great service.
Used it in the van last night. Very quiet and pumps out a good quantity of air. Happy customer!!
The 8 inch Coleman fan is a great unit. Well made, not cheap and nasty. We use it in the caravan instead of running the aircon when away from 240 volt power.
light weight and does everything it says on the box and offers enough air for the space we need, great service snows.
Hi! Would these fans be big enough for a 4 man tent (only 2 people in the tent). Cheers!
At risk of sitting on the fence with this one, it really depends on what you're wanting to get out of your 8" Coleman Rechargeable Fan with LED. If all you want is a small amount of air circulation and some light breeze, then it's going to be an absolute ripper but if you wanted to create some real gusts to battle the heat, then you might want to look at something a little bigger.
When running off 12v is there any sort of low battery warning or cut out?
Unfortunately, the Coleman Rechargeable Fan with LED doesn't come with any sort of warning or cut out system for low voltage when it's charging using 12v.
Could you please tell me how much use before the battery will need to be replaced and where can I buy a new one.. thanks
There is no 'lifetime' timeframe provided for the rechargeable battery sorry as this ultimately depends on how you maintain and use it.
In regards to sourcing a new one, you'd need to visit a battery specialist like Battery World who may be able to help you out.
It's highly unlikely however that you'll need to replace the battery for some time.
A photo side on would be good.
I can't find any side images of the Coleman Rechargable Fan from Coleman, however, can you shoot me an email at email@example.com with attention to Ben and I'll snap a photo of our display stock and email it through to you?
Does this run straight from a 12v and or 240v supply. As in it doesn't have to charge the battery. I just want a fan that hooks into the 12v socket or can be used in the 240v of a motorhome. I don't really need the battery to be charged.
If you plug the Coleman Rechargeable Fans in whilst the switch is set to 'DC', the fan will cut out and the battery will charge. However... if you flick the switch to 'AC' whilst the unit is plugged into a power source, the fan will run and the charge indicator will show. This will then give you the added back up ability to run off the battery if ever required.
The instruction manual says to plug into 240V power and move the front switch to DC to recharge. Is that really necessary? The red charging light comes on as soon as it's plugged in anyway (no matter whether set to AC or DC on the front of the unit). Does it also recharge when plugged into a 12V power source? I would expect so because again, the red charging light comes on...the manual is not very clear on this!?
The reason you switch to DC when connected to 240V to recharge is so that the fan doesn’t run when it’s charging if that makes sense – so I would follow what the instructions say regarding that.
You can charge this unit somewhat with a 12V source, but it will be a slow trickle charge so you’re not going to be able to get a full charge on it without draining your car battery, so we would recommend giving it a full charge on 240V source as per the manual.
I didn't know you can make it oscillate til I read the questions and answers. There are no instructions in the pamphlet. Love the fan though........Nice and quiet and blows a lot of air for its size 😀
I've had a look at the instructions and you're right that bit of info isn't in there, but it's feedback that I'd be happy to pass onto Coleman for you though.
It's good to hear that you're enjoying your rechargeable fan Annette - you've got to have a cool breeze going when the weather is warm!
Hi do you know how much power, amps etc it will use if plugged straight in 12v . I don't to flatten the battery of my camper. Thanks
G’day Geoff, we don’t have any detail on the power draw from the charging cycle, but this fan would use a very low amount. If your battery is in good condition you should be able to run this fan with no issue. It would be very unlikely that it would flatten the battery of your camper if used correctly.
hi plugged in charger red led flashed then went off do not know if unit is charging
G’day Mike, I’ve just had a chat with Coleman and they've told me that the light can play up a bit at times. They suggested to leave it in for a good 24 hours to fully charge it - so give this a try and see how it goes. Also keep in mind that as this product uses a lead acid battery, so make sure you charge it before you store it.
Do you know the approximate run time for fan on either low or high setting using battery power only? Also, do you know if the oscillating feature is just the front grill turning or does the fan oscillate from left to right? Thank you!
also looking at purchasing the coleman 8 ppl gold tent and want to know if this tent has hooks etc to hang things in both sleeping quarters, thanks!
Does the LED indicator switch off once fully charged? How long should this take?
