The Darche Panorama 2 Roof Top Touring Tent has been up-specced and revamped for 2017. The ultimate rooftop tent in the Darche range, you can’t get any more luxurious than the Panorama. For those of you who love to stargaze - the zippered sunroof allows you to see straight into the heavens while you drift off, which makes this tent the limousine of rooftop accommodation.
With enough space for a couple or the solo traveller who likes the extra room, the Panorama is super comfortable thanks to the high-density mattress included. The tent is made from durable canvas, with a PVC floor and a PVC tonneau cover so it is built to withstand the harsh touring lifestyle. In warm weather, the tropical fly will help to prevent condensation build up and give you plenty of fresh air circulating so you don’t get hot and stuffy. You’ll only need a sleeping bag and a pillow as the Panorama comes with a comfortable high-density mattress with a zip off cotton cover for easy cleaning.
This shelter packs down close to your vehicle so it won’t stick out and drag you down when you’re on the road. The checker plate base, frame lugs and centre pivoting yoke are made from Aluminium and will work together to keep your shelter steady while reducing the overall load. Made specially to withstand the uncompromising Australian climate – the Panorama will see you through many adventures.

I have a Honda HRV
G'day Cathy,
The Panorama 2 Rooftop Tent & Annex will generally work with smaller SUVs. Your best bet will be to check the roof load rating on the vehicles manufacture specifications. Don't forget you'll need to account for the Roof Racks, the Tent and your body weight while in the tent.
How does it mount to roof racks, can you change the orientation of the mounting rails? I have racks which run across the vehicle’s canopy (side to side) and I want to orientate the tent so it opens over the rear of the vehicle?
G'day Joshua,
I've just spoken with our resident Rooftop Tent expert and he said you can definitely mount them so the tent opens to the rear. They come with some mounting brackets that essentially sandwich your rails so they can be mounted in any orientation.
Hello I'm after the hight of this tent when it's packed up
G'day K,
The Darche Panorama 2 Rooftop Tent Annex is 25cm high when packed up. This doesn't include the height of your roof racks as they'll vary.
is the mat included any good? also Is this similar to a swag where you can leave your sleeping bag in when packing up?
G'day Ben,Â
The mat inside the Panorama is made from high-density open cell foam that's 50mm thick, so it is definitely a good quality mat that's going to be comfortable to sleep on.
As for leaving gear in the tent when it's packed down, the Panorama II will not accommodate bedding left in the tent because it folds down very close to your vehicle. Any pillows or bedding will make it too thick to close and you will risk damaging the tent trying to force it shut.
