The Darche Cold Mountain Sleeping Bag Range Watch video

The Cold Mountain is known among us outdoorsy types as being one of the biggest, and most comfortable bags on the market. For those of you out there that prefer the soft feel of canvas, with a bit of extra room to move - this bag will keep you comfy and warm no matter what the conditions are.

With a flannel inner lining, and a dual layer filling – you’ll be toasty warm even in conditions up to -5 degrees. With dual zips you can join compatible bags together, and if you’re the kind of person who doesn’t like feeling confined – this bag can be unzipped to create a large doona so you’ll feel right at home. If you can’t bear to be parted with your phone or device even when you sleep, the good news is that you can keep it in the Cold Mountain’s internal pocket that has a Velcro strip to stop it falling out in the night.

The draw cord hood can be cinched in to keep your head warm, and the flannel lining feels almost like your quilt at home while keeping you snug as you drift off to sleep.  The great news about the Canvas Cold Mountain, is that it just rolls up like a swag into its carry bag, ready for you to throw it in the back of car lickedy split.

Best sleeping bag

Best sleeping bag I have ever used, very big and extremely soft and comfortable

Super comfortable for tall person

I'm 6'3 and have been loving the roominess and all around comfort of this bag. It's been fine to wear a t-shirt and shorts for temps around 5-8 Celsius and with light Thermals and inner sheet for temps around 0 to - 5. Happy customer.

Is this the only colour it comes in?1 answer

I have seen it in a beige colour and I'm not sure if that is the could colour or the new colour. Do you have it in beige?

- Silverwater(4 months ago)

G'day Graeme,

The Darche Cold Mountain Canvas 1400 in the beige is the old model which we no longer have any stock available for. Sorry.

Cleaning1 answer

What is is the best way to clean these sleeping bags? Washing machine be okay?

- Dromana(6 months ago)

G'day Brayden,

Darche recommends the following points when caring for your sleeping bag:

  • Hand wash only.
  • Wash separately in warm water using a mild detergent.
  • Hand rinse thoroughly.
  • To dry lay in shade on a flat surface.
  • Do not machine wash or dry clean.
  • Do not iron.

You can read more from their website here.

Zips1 answer

Hi guys just looking at these sleeping bags do they have zips on each side or are they only down one side.

- Chittering (7 months ago)

G'day Emrys,

The Darche Cold Mountain Canvas 1400 is made with dual zippers, which means there are zippers down both sides.

- Snowys(7 months ago)

Do you have these in stock yet and what is the difference b/twn the 1100 and 1400 ?.Thanks.1 answer

Just after availability of these sleeping bags thank's.

- Sunshine coast,Qld.(8 months ago)

G'day Greg,

The 1100 and 1400 of the Darche Cold Mountain Canvas simply represent their width. This is the only difference which naturally affects their weight with 1100 (1.1m) being 4.4kg and 1400 (1.4m) being 5.5kg. Everything else is the same.

Unfortunately, the stock hasn't arrived yet but we are hoping for any day now. If you'd like like to go on a waiting list, rather than pre-order, please give us a buzz on 1300 914 007 and we can help you do that.

1400mm - Double?1 answer

Should the 'Darche Cold Mountain Canvas 1400' be regarded as a compact adult double, or should it be viewed as an over wide single?

- Hobart(9 months ago)

G'day Steve,

That's a great question. While it depends on the size of the two people looking to sleep inside the bag, the Darche 1400 Cold Mountain sleeping bags are designed as a compact two person sleeping bag. To offer some perspective, the width of most king size sleeping bags are around 100cm, so if you're after a bit of room to move, we'd encourage you to consider joining two single bags together. If you do decide to get two single bags with hoods, ensure you select bags with a left and right zip so that they can be joined with the hoods being at the base.
