Hi - darche lists this as a 3 way tent but I see in the pics and description it states only 1 door. Are there different models?
G'day Michael,
The old annex style has 3 doors, which is only available in the 1.6m drop. The 1.8m & 2.1m drop annexes are the new design, with 1 door / 2 windows.
We don't stock the 1.6m drop annex, but Darche do, hence the reference to 3 doors still on their listing.
Hope that makes sense, let us know if you have any other questions!
Does the vehicle/camper side have provision to attach to the camper via sail track? (similar to caravan annexe)
G'day Michael,
The back of the annex attaches to the roof top tent base via sail track, whilst the side & front attach by zip.
You could attach the back of the annex to a sail track on a camper, etc but wether or not that's going to be a functional option will depend on the rest of your set up & what you're wanting to use it with.
Hello, I am interested in fitting a Queen mattress inside this annex and have some concerns about size. The mattress measures 198 x 152 x 45H cm. Will it fit behind the ladders or will it impede the support and ladder position? Thanks
I don't have an annex setup I can use to check this for you sorry, Themos, but I can make some reasonable assumptions based on dimensions and the video we have on the features of the Hi-View 2200 tent. If you look in that video at about 1:53 (see here - https://youtu.be/aiqXD1js7IQ?t=115), it looks like there is about half a metre between the ladder and the edge of the annex, so we can estimate that there is approximately 2 metres from the ladder to the back wall of the annex, which should be enough for a queen bed even when taking into account the sloping ladder, although not a heap of space.
This is all dependent on where the tent is mounted on your car though, that is, if the tent isn’t mounted right to the edge of the vehicle, then you'll need to account for the amount of space that the side of the vehicle will impede on the total depth.
Long story short, it's possible, but there are a few 'it depends' attached to your question, and even if it does fir it won; t leave you a heap of space.
Hope that helps.
Can the annex room be left on the tent for pack up if the tent had nothing but mattress' in there
G'day Guy,
No, unfortunately, you won't be able to pack the annexe away with the tent, you'll need to detach it and pack it away separately.
We have had some trouble with our 1.6 annexe. It has terribly leaked across all zip seams and created a river inside the annexe floor. there was also water running down the inside front walls from the seam, this had the flap cover over the zip but it still happened. Does Darche have any advice on this?
G'day Janelle,
Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Hi-View 2200 Annex. We'd suggest touching base with Darche via their warranty form to see how they can help you out.
