The 6L Per Minute Pump from Smarttek allows you to use the separately available Smarttek 6 hot water unit, with a water source up to 40m away from your Hot Water unit such as a river, stream or dam.
This pump comes with the Smarttek water hose quick connects and pump power cable with alligator clips included, so you can make use of an external water source you have available with your hot water unit.

Is it better for the pump to be near a water source and push the water up to where you need it or to pull the water up?
G'day Jack,
This pump pushes better than it sucks. So if you need to have a water source further away, the pump is best kept closer to the water source than the shower itself.
Hope that helps!
Just wondering how noisy this pump is? I currently have a camplux 6L/min pump and it’s quite loud. I’m looking for something a little quieter and wondering if this might be a better to solution. Thanks
G'day Katie,
We don't sell Camplux so unfortunately, we're not familiar with how loud that is compared to the Smarttek pump unit. The only information that we can provide is that noisiness hasn't been a complaint with the Smarttek units, so we can assume it doesn't operate at a noise loud enough to cause issues. I've personally used the Smarttek pump a few times before, and its operating volume wasn't memorable.
Hope that helps.
Is this pump self priming
G'day John,
Yes, I've just double checked this, and can confirm that the pump is self priming.
Does the pump come with a cigarette lighter adapter or just the alligator clips? If it only comes with the alligator clips, is a cigarette lighter adapter available separately?
G'day David,
It only comes with the Alligator Clips cable. There isnt a 12v cigarette cable option at present, as the Smarttek Multi Cable options pack is not currently available.
Modifying this supplied cable would be a relatively quick and easy job for an auto electrician, or if you know someone who is handy with electronics.
Hi guys. Looking for a pump for the back of the car that I can drop a hose into a water container or bucket (a few feet away and a couple feet lower) and connect to either a low tap or a higher shower head. Would this be suitable without anything else (apart from hose fittings)? And if the bucket/water container occasionally ran out leaving the pump running dry for a short time, would it cope with that? And can this be plonked on a flat surface for short term use or does it need to be always firmly anchored? Thanks - John.
G'day John,
Sounds like the Smarttek 6L/pm will more than adequately suit your needs with the set up you've described.
We run something similar at home with our DIY solar hot water system.
Hope that helps!
