To use your existing Smarttek hot water system with water from a river, creek, dam or bucket of water – you’ll need a Water Filter from Smarttek.
This 200-micron filter will stop debris and gunk from getting into the separately available Smarttek6 smart hot water system when you use it with a water source.
It’s easy peasy to install, you just need to connect the filter to the water inlet valve on your Smarttek6 hot water unit and you’re good to go.

is there a product that can attach to the end of the hose to help prevent matter being sucked into the hose?
G'day Deb,
Yes, the filter can be opened up for cleaning and removal of debris. Generally, you'll only need to do this on a regular basis if the water source you're using is particularly dirty. There isn't a specific product to stop debris entering the hose end, however I have seen some people use very fine mesh, or panty-hose over the end to reduce the chance of debris at the start of the system.
