If you don’t want to lug around a bulky backpack for spontaneous day trips, then pop the Ultra-Sil Nano Daypack in your pocket or on your key chain.
This design impressively weighs only 30g, can carry a load of up to 20kg, and packs down to the size of a chicken egg. It’s made from ultralight 15D high strength nylon fabric which is siliconised for water resistance and durability, and the panelling is streamlined for maximum strength and minimal weight. There are bar tacks added at the stress points for extra strength and it has an asymmetrical zipper to make it more compressible.
Ideal for keeping in your suitcase when travelling light, or in your rucksack for quick day hikes – the Ultra-Sil Nano Daypack from Sea to Summit is the perfect minimal gear carrier.

Are the straps adjustable?
G'day Adele,
The straps on the Ultra-Sil Nano backpack aren't adjustable, as they've been designed to be as lightweight and compact as possible. If you're looking for something with adjustable straps, then the Ultra-Sil Day Pack has adjustable straps with a small buckle on each strap.
The regular UltraSil is water resistant “PU 2000mm waterhead rating so it's water-resistant in a drizzle” but the Nano only says “water resistant” .... does anyone know how water resistant it is? (I’m trying to choose between the two)
G'day Fayley,
The Ultra-Sil Nano Daypack doesn't have a specific waterhead rating on it, so if you're needing to keep your goodies dry we'd suggest going for the Ultra Sil Daypack.
Has anyone tried both this Nano UltraSil Daypack and the regular UltraSil? I k own there is a slight weight and size difference, but has anyone noticed a comfort difference or different shoulder straps?
G'day Fayley,
Some of the staff here were lucky enough to get some of the Ultra-Sul Nano Daypacks at a Sea to Summit training night and so far they are performing very well. The straps on the Nano are a tiny bit narrower, but they seem to feel pretty similar to each other when being warn.
