Happy customer

Love it. But it is too big for just two people. Will probably buy a smaller one when it is on special! :)

So pleased!

Currently sitting in the Fitzroy river in WA eating a Moroccan chicken tagine that I prepared this morning. It survived the 4 WDriving spillage and has now provided us with such a tasty succulent dinner , so pleased with this unit.

Thermal Cooker

I am very happy with my new thermal cooker that I purchased recently. What a wonderful experience to be learning to cook a 'different' way - loved everything I've made so far. So convenient for my busy life. You don't have to be a camper to enjoy this product.

Thermal Cooker loving it!

Used it twice at home prior to cooking, cooked perfectly. While camping cooked a beef roast and was pleasantly suprised at how well it went. Cook book included is pretty bad but just stick to theory of having the liquid in the base whether its part of meal or just filled with boiling water to cook in top pot. Recommend.

Can you cook 2 separate meals in the 2 inner pots at the same time, stacking one pot on top of the other?1 answers

- PERTH, WA(2 months ago)

Hi Kim, I’ve just had a look at the instruction manual, and you definitely can use both pots at the same time by stacking them. It’s actually really handy when you want to save time by simultaneously cooking a main and a side for dinner.

Bag?1 answers

hi, does the cooker come with the bag or is it an extra please ??

- FURNISSDALE, WA(5 months ago)
G'day Blackjack - It doesn't come with a bag but you can buy one separately. The code - pop it in the search box at the top of the page - is: #40162. Hope that helps. Cheers, Paul

Exactly how does this heat up in the first place? Does it have an electrical connection, or doeds it have to be heated up on gas or in a campfire?3 answers

- Stirling(11 months ago)
Hi Chris, you start the cooking process for these on your cooktop. Boil water or heat up your stew then transfer the hot contents to the insulated Thermal Cooker where the heat is retained and it slow cooks for up to 8 hours. There are a number of methods to cook various meals, and with a bit of experimentation you can produce some great food from these with minimal fuss.
- Snowys(11 months ago)

Hi Chris, what happens after 8 hours? Does the food start going off?

- Bellbrae(5 months ago)
Chris, after 8 hours it will start to cool, and you do need to be careful as your food reaches the "danger zone" between 5°C and 60°C where bacteria can grow. I would not recommend leaving your food in the Thermal Cooker for longer than 8 hours.

We go 4wd driving a lot, so climbing hills and sometimes quite bumpy roads. Will the liquid spill out of the cooker if we're climbing hills etc?3 answers

- MELBOURNE, VIC(12 months ago)

Whilst we haven't had any comments regarding spilling, the pot lid is not vacuum sealed and given all the variables involved, there is a chance some spillage may occur.

- Snowies(12 months ago)

Yes you can get spillage. You do need to hear it and then let the vacuum seal form (about 10 mins) then we put it in a bucket inside its bag, an wrapped in a towel when 4 wheel driving. It does still work and not too messy.

Thanks for sharing your insight, Sue. And great tips for eliminating a mess. :) Cheers, Paul

Campfire Travel Chef Thermal Cooker1 answers

Can you use this Thermal cooker on stovetop, induction. gas stove and campfire?

- DAKABIN, QLD(1 year ago)
They are not designed for induction Rita, but the internal pots are stainless steel and can be used on electric and gas stovetop as well as in the campfire, although this will blacken them. The external unit is only used to insulate the pots and cannot be placed on a heated surface.
