I've not got an Exped Megamat on display at the minute, so I grabbed one of the Double Zempire Megamats, which are slightly larger to try on the Black Wolf Tanami Delta 3 Tent. I was able to get it to fit although it was a pretty tight squeeze. It does touch at the foot and head ends but only on the bucket floor part of the tent, so you shouldn't have any issues with it leaking.

I've just taken my trusty tape measure to the floor of our display model of the Black Wolf Tanami Delta 3 Tent. You will be able to fit your two mattresses in but they'd need to be right next to each other and would still go right to the edge on all 4 sides, you wouldn't have room for any bags etc. in the tent with you. It might be worth your while looking at the Black Wolf Tanami Delta 4 Tent.

Great question - unfortunately, there's nothing that specifically fits your request.

The Tanami is a camping tent, what you ultimately need is a hiking tent.

The MSR Mutha Hubba available here is far better quality and the weight is where you'd like it to be, but potentially lacking in a few features. The cost is also much more significant.

You could also consider the Zempire Trilogy available here which is similar quality, but again, not as many features and the weight 1kg more than what you're looking for.

Unfortunately I don't think the Tanami Delta 3 will work for your situation because of the Portacot. While technically the cot and Mega Deluxe mat would fit side-by-side in the tent, we have to consider the height of the cot and the slope of the tent walls, and it won't work.

You'll have the same problem with our pop up tents. What you need is a tent with more head height! A couple of options to consider are the Coleman Instant Up 4P tent of the Mannagum Glenelg 4V.

Hey Darren, thanks for the question. When making a decision between models, the Black Wolf Tanami 4 would be more comparable to the Coleman Overlander 4 in terms of size. The quality and build of the Overlander and the Tanami are on par. And both models are more than adequate for Aussie weather conditions. We’ve had good feedback from both so I can’t recommend one over the other in terms of quality and durability. But if I had to pick one over the other, the Coleman at its current price is a steal so that might be the best way to go. G'day Bill - That's a great, but very broad question. Almost every tent will handle a bit of rain / dew and wind. And we have many that suit 3-4 people. I'd need to know a little bit more about your needs to make recommendations. Your best bet is to give us a quick call on 1300 914 007, we'll ask you things like where you'll be travelling, how often will you be setting the tent up (e.g. you may set it up once and stay in one spot for a week, or you might be putting it up and taking it down every day), your budget... G'day Bill - A tent like the Tanami will certainly suit, but just be aware it's out of stock at the moment. ETA is in red under the price. Alternatively consider the Coleman Overlander 4P Dome Tent and Coleman Instant Up 4P Tent (#34675 and #38311), and the Coleman Lakeside 6 Geodesic Tent (#43238). Pop these numbers in the search box at the top of the page to view them. For easy of setup, my recommendation will be with the Instant Up 4P. Also consider the Instant Up 4P Gold, which is a hotted up version - more durable, more awning space, more waterproof. :) Hope that helps. Cheers, Paul

It's a 2 - 3 season tent Jessica, and would be perfect for your 4wd adventures. Tent ratings can be misleading, 4 season actually means it is best suited for very cold and/or windy conditions (think alpine), but are hot and have less ventilation in warm climates. In a nutshell a 4 season tent is best suited for 1 season. For travels around Australia a 2 - 3 season tent is ideal. The Tanami Delta will stand up well in wind, keep you dry in wet weather and provide great ventilation when it's warm. It's also compact for easy transport. The inner would be fine indoors without pegs David, but the flysheet would need some weights/attachments to keep it in place. I guess if you're using it indoors you don't need the flysheet anyway!
