Hi there, I recently bought this sleeping bag and am wondering what's size compression sack would be most suitable? Thanks in advance!
G'day Zena,
The Sea to Summit Small and Medium Compression Sacks are both suitable for the sawtooth, it will really depend if you'd prefer a longer skinnier compressed back, or a shorter and fatter compressed bag.
Marmot website has this bag rated at -9c you have it at -6c, can you please explain the difference?
Hi Nathan,
Marmot have some odd habits when it comes to advertising their bags. The storage bag for these sleeping bags lists -9'C, however on the inside of the bag where the EN temperature rating is listed, the comfort temperature is listed as -6.4'C.
Hi, I'd like to compare the internal chest/shoulder dimensions from different manufacturers. This Marmot Sawtooth is 152cm shoulder, the Roman Palm IV (which I own) is 140cm chest (just comfortable). The Black Wolf 500 is 160cm chest. Is the Black Wolf 500 substantially bigger than those other two bags (is chest comparable to shoulder measurements)? I'm looking for a comfortable bag and the chest size suggests I should choose the Black Wolf Hiker 500 over the Marmot Sawtooth. The temp and weight on both is suitable.
G'day Rob,
The Sawtooth is a slightly warmer sleeping bag, with a slightly lower weight, this is partially due to the more tapered shape of the bag. The Hiker is slightly bigger, but overall I'd say it's only marginally bigger. We'd probably recommend choosing a bag based on the temperature rating and features primarily, then assessing the shape.
