The Deuter Quantum 70 + 10 Hybrid Travel Pack is for the world travelling person that considers themselves a bit adventurous. A typical travel pack, with all its bulk and basic harness, simply won't do. You want to go off the beaten track.
The main compartment has top-access, as with most hiking rucksacks, as well as front-access, so you feel a bit more civilised when unpacking in a hotel room. Conveniently clipping onto the front is a handy daypack which features a myriad of pockets to keep everything you need for a day trip organised. The main pack has stretch side pockets for holding water bottles, a lid and two hip belt pockets to keep those necessities easily accessible, and a host of other features usually only found on Deuter's specialist trekking packs. Most important, is the Aircontact harness system - you're going to remain comfortable even on a long hike with a heavy load.
You won't be restricted to the city with the Quantum 70+10. This is a fully-spec'd rucksack that is just as at home on the streets of Berlin as it is in on the Camino de Santiago.

Im after a one size for all occasions pack and considering this but wondering if it would be too big? Thanks
G'day Kate,
This pack is quite long and what I'd consider the larger end of the spectrum. I'm 5'4" and would consider it to be too big for me, however, without knowing more information for what you intend to use it for, it's hard to answer specifically. The best way we find to get the right pack is to come into a specialist store and get fitted correctly, this ensures you have the correct pack for yourself and for your travels.
The written description states "...Conveniently clipping onto the front is a handy 10L daypack ..." However the specifications on the same page state "Capacity: 70L + 10L Expansion | 18L Daypack" So exactly what is the daypack capacity? 18L or 10L ?
G'day Jared,
Sorry for our typo on this one mate. The Daypack is an 18L daypack on the Deuter Quantum 70 10 Hybrid Travel Pack.
Hi guys, does this pack have a bladder/hydration pocket??
G'day Locky,
While the Deuter Quantum isn't hydration compatible, it does have a pocket that you could sit a bladder in.
The Quantum is a beautiful pack, with the front loader and bottom compartment including lockable zippers. However if the top isn't lockable, it kind of make the other sections kinda irrelevant. Unless, is there a way to lock it up like the BlackWolf Sierra?
G'day Laurence,
I've just had a look at our display model, and no the top lid is indeed not lockable, and there isn't any other way to do so unfortunately.
However, this pack does come with a rain/transit cover (which you will most likely have to put on if travelling on a plane) which has zips that can be locked - so you will be able to keep it secure that way, Laurence.
