Hi, the online blurb says ‘Lockable with 6mm padlock (works with the TRED Pro model only)’. I’m curious as to why a padlock won’t work with the TRED 1100 model. Is there any way I could use this mounting set up with the 1100 model and make it secure?
G'day Jeremy,
The locking feature only works with the TRED Pros due to to the dimension/positions of the actual locking mechanism inside the plastic handle.
On any other model the plastic grip handle sits too high, and doesn't line up with the internal workings.
If you want to have the option of locking the mount with other TRED models, you'll need to purchase separately available extension pins through TRED directly.
We're thinking of purchasing two packs of recovery boards, 4 boards altogether and want to know if the mounting bracket will store all of them.
G'day Dianne,
Each mounting bracket is designed to take 2 boards. To carry the 4 Treds, you'd need 2 mounting brackets.
How do you mount to a Wrangler spare wheel? Like the picture shown? Cheers
G'day Darren,
The mounts are supplied with some cable ties which can be used to mount the plate to a spare wheel.
Hi the description mentions this is 1 mounting kit and a previously answered question mentions 1 kit is needed for a pair of treds. As per the picture to mount this on the side would i need to order two mounts for the front and back of the treds to be secure.
G'day John,
The packet contains the backplate, and the two pins, so you can mount a pair of TREDs from a single point - like the photo shown attaching them to the rear wheel of the Jeep. If you're wanting to mount it to a roof rack and attach it at the front and the back then you'll need to purchase two mounting brackets.
As pictured in one of the pics in the ad
G'day Tracey,
Your best bet will be to try and source some brackets from your local Rhino-Rack Supplier. The Pro Mounting Brackets are just supplied with the base plate and ratchet handles for attachment using straps of cable ties.
Hi, can you just use 1 mount for a set of tracks or do you need 2?
G'day Ben,
The TRED Pro Mounting Bracket is designed to mount a pair of TREDs, so if you've just got the one pair, then you'll just need the one kit.
Hi
G'day Aaron,
You can tie, strap or bolt the Pro Mounting Brackets however you'd like and to wherever you'd like using the bolt holes in the plate, or the side attachment points (the first two images show some options). TRED don't make a specific bracket to attach them to a Pioneer Platform, and as far as I'm aware Rhino also don't make a specific bracket.
