Gday Sales - what is the outside diameter of the immersion pump
G'day Paul,
I've just double checked the pump housing and it has a 60mm diameter. It won't fit into a jerry can, so we generally suggest drawing water from a bucket or collapsible tub.
Is this an all in one shower that transports water to the nozzle without power connection or do you have to connect to a power source for it to work
G'day Trent,
For the Companion High Volume Camp Shower to get water from the source to the showerhead, it needs the pump to be on. The pump needs to be connected to a power source to operate.
Can you plug this into a pack to operate and do you sell them?
G'day Steve,
We do sell a range of 12V battery options for you to plus the Primus High Volume Shower into. While not cheap, one of the popular battery options which you can plug the 12V cigarette socket directly into can be found here.
Does the switch on the shower handle turn off the pump or just the flow?
G'day Gabi,
The switch on the shower head of the Primus High Volume Camp Shower only stops the water flow. The switch for the pump is separate.
I bought this specifically because the pump had a screw fitting that i assumed i would be able to connect to a pipe/valve or pipe fitting of some sort. My plan is to have a header tank that it connects to and pumps from. I searched high and low in bunnings with no success. Even the assistant said they had not seen that type of thread before.
G'day Simon,
You've got an interesting predicament that we've been asked about a few times. I'm not sure what the name of the thread is, however, in your circumstance, I'd recommend visiting a specialist plumbing centre who often carry a much bigger range of fittings than general hardware retailers. This has been the solution for others in the past and they'll hopefully be able to offer you greater assistance in achieving what you would like to do.
Can you run this while your car is running so you don't drain the battery? Or does the car have to be off?? Is there a battery pack you can run it from instead?
G’day Kathleen, the Primus High Volume Camp Shower can be used while your car is running but it will also work when your car is on (with the engine off). You won't run into an issues with draining your car battery with this shower system, as that would only happen if you left it on for several hours. The Primus High Volume Camp Shower can definitely be used with a portable battery pack, as long as it has a suitable 12V DC connection.
G’day Daniel, the Primus High Volume Camp Shower is designed to distribute water. To use it you submerge one end into a bucket or water container and then connect the other end to a 12V power source - so if you want to have a warm or hot shower you just need to heat the water up beforehand.
Is there a certain brand of container that the threaded part of the pump is meant to go on?
Hi Darren, The high volume camp shower is designed to be submerged into a bucket or water container. There is a coleman collapsible water carrier that can be attached to the pump however it isn't currently available on our website. Hope that helps.
Hi, I would like to know what is the thread size of the base of the hand held rose/head. Is it 1/2" BSP for example?
I dont think it is BSP as I cant get it to fit anything and want to put it onto a tank but i'm stumped as to how to do it...it fits a Frantelle 15L bottle but that is it,,
G'day Lachlan,
I've pulled out the Primus High Volume Camp Shower to check, and it definitely has a 1/2" fitting. If you are having trouble connecting it to your tank it may be because it has a different fitting.Â
I think your best bet would be to call up your local hardware store as our knowledge of plumbing fittings is a little limited I'm afraid.
Hi, Does the handle allow the user to adjust the flow rate? I noticed that the flow type can be adjusted (ie different types of sparys) but can the water flow be controlled in and not just on and off?
If you can how much is it please?
Hi there, could this be used With the aqua cube?
can the pump be submerged in a bucket of water? or does it have to be connected to a fixture?
