The Easy Fold Stretcher Tent from Oztrail takes everything you love from traditional outdoor shelters - the elevation of a stretcher, the spacious head height of a tent and the cosiness of a swag and combines it into one magnificent package.

You won’t even have to spend time setting up your sleeping quarters because this shelter folds out with no assembly required. All you need to do is chuck your mattress, sleeping bag and pillow inside and you’ll be good to go. The fabric is treated to repel water, and the seams of the fly are taped so once it’s properly set up you’ll stay dry all night.

With three doors you’ll never feel trapped in, and you can just roll out of bed easily no matter how sore you are from yesterday’s energetic adventure. In good weather you can use it without the fly, and with the mesh roof you’ll be able to fall asleep while looking at the stars.

  • Instant up with no assembly required
  • Powder coated steel frame for strength and protection against rust
  • UV protected fabric
  • Water repellant fabric
  • Taped fly seams for water protection
  • Insect proof mesh
  • 3 Large easy access doors
  • Carry bag included
  • Comes with awning

Great product

Just spent the weekend in the Flinders Ranges SA. Rained heavily for 12 hours and I remained warm and dry. I use a oztrail self inflating mattress under me for added comfort and warmth.I am 6 foot 4 inches and had no problem fitting. Some condensation after waking up but nothing unusual. Zips could be better but other than this cannot fault it. Very impressed for the price.Easy to put up and pack down. Love the pockets inside for holding personal items Delivery was super fast

Thanks for the write up George! Really glad to hear you slept through that torrential downpour we copped. Great to know the stretcher tent can handle such conditions too. Laine :)

Oztrail stretcher tent : new purchase not used yet.

Snowys service: 5 stars. What a delight to deal with knowledgeable, polite and efficient staff! Thank you, Snowys. Delivery: 1. No delivery charge- wow! 2. It arrived exactly as described, to my door within 5 days of ordering (and on a Saturday) to small rural village in WA. 5* Product: exactly as described. Also: 1) the carry bag is heavy duty nylon canvas - which is a plus - and got everything back into the bag! That alone is worth 5*. Looking fwd to trialling in the bush. Perfect.

love this thing

we just got back from a camping trip where we experienced very cold temperatures, we had three of these Oztrail stretcher tents and they were really great, comfortable, warm and cozy, easy to put up and pack down, the fact that you are off the ground and can easily just swing your legs out during the night to get up is priceless, I'm nearly sixty so I like my comfort when camping

Looks like a nice spot Peter, glad you slept there in comfort. ~ Ben

Stormy Weather

I bought my stretcher tent to take on a 4WD trip on a very rugged road. The weather blew, rained, and the temperature dropped overnight but I was comfortable, cosy, dry and warm in my stretcher tent. The tent at the high end has plenty of room to move in. The zip covers kept the rain and dew out, I just had to be careful not to touch the tent at the low end as this would cause the water to come through the fabric of the tent. I am more than happy with my stretcher tent.

Thanks for your review Anne, very helpful to hear how the Easy Fold Stretcher performs in rainy conditions. Hopefully when you go out next, you'll have better luck with the weather. Laine :)

Great performer

As more "senior" campers no longer interested in crawling in and out of tents on our hands and knees, we tried these over 3 nights in 3 different locations. 15 minutes to fully set up both tents with bedding and 15 minutes to get away next day. Brilliant night's sleep. Just step out in the morning. Waterproof too. Only negative: could not close back flap all the way down past base.

Oztrail Easy Fold Stretcher Tent

What a fantastic Product. Very, Very quick to set up and very comfortable to sleep on. Handled Singleton's Lake St Clair storm's fine. No Leaks at all. Love the zipper cover that prevents that. Being nearly 40yrs, its sooo much easier getting out of bed in the morn due to being off the ground. Me and my 12yr old boy love em.

Love it

I've done 2 big trips with this, the last one was close to a month. It's great I also use a single self inflating mattress and its the best night sleep I've ever had camping. I do recommend that if you expect heavy or consistent rain to at least use the back tie down as water tends to pool at the rear, if tied down it'll run off before its an issue. I've gotten it down to 2min setup, nothing better than sitting back with a beer watching everyone struggle

sturdy and comfortable

havent had the opportunity to use as yet but initial thoughts are they are going to be good its comfortable and easily set up and packed up is just as good would recommend for longer camping trips.

what is the folded up size1 answers

- kuraby(4 months ago)
Hi Max, packed up this stretcher tent measures roughly 100 x 16 x 16 cm. This can depend on how meticulously you fold it up but it's a pretty good indication.

Will it fold with bedding inside?1 answers

I am thinking of moving from a swag to this. At the moment I set up the swag with all my bedding in it before I leave home and then just unroll the swag when I arrive with sleeping bag and pillow already to go. Can I do the same with this or do I have to carry it all seperate till I get there? Thanks

- Wagga Wagga(10 months ago)
I recommend keeping your bedding separate Thomas. It won't fold very well with the bedding inside, and may cause problems with stress on the feame or fabrics getting pinched. This is one of the great things with swags.

Hi guys we are loooking to buy three of these for a trip on the CSR what mattress would you recommend to go with it, if any? We are all in our late sixties and like the idea of not having to be on the ground!

- Waikanae NZ(1 year ago)
Hi Pete, the Explore Planet Earth Sim Camper F60 would be a good option (search product code 47320 on our website). It is slightly narrower than the stretcher tent, self inflating, finished off with quality components and won't add too much bulk to your kit. There are thicker options, but you wouldn't need it in this tent. Just FYI, I notice you are in NZ and we don't deliver there unfortunately, if you have friends in Australia, we can deliver to them though.
- Snowys(1 year ago)

Thanks for that Ben, We will be buying a lot of stuff from you in late July, including three stretcher tents, which i see are not available til late June. We will be departing from adelaide, so i guess we could pick stuff up there which you might hold for us? We leave for the CSR and Anne Beadell highway around 3 August Cheers and thanks peter

- Waikanae NZ(1 year ago)
That won't be a problem Pete. You would be best calling us to place your order if you want us to hold it, then we can process it differently and keep it aside ready for pick up. Let us know when you're ready and we'll sort it out for you.

Is it comfortable to sleep in & how long does it take to set up, please? Also, Is there a cloth door on the sleeping area or just the flywire & the extension flap?2 answers

My picture is difficult to see details clearly. Is it wind-tight and cosy?

- Kambalda West(1 year ago)
Hi Carol. These tents are becoming very popular, and we have had no reports of a bad nights sleep to date. You can increase comfort levels by adding an extra mattress if you wish, but the base already has some padding/insulation. Set up time is 5-10 mins, quicker once you have some practice under your belt. The inner tent has both mesh and nylon closures over the doors, and the fly then goes over the top of that. It will reliably protect you from wind and rain, and with the right bedding, you can create a cosy environment for you to rest in.
- Snowys(1 year ago)

Comfortable yes . Depends on your mattress. The inside is all fly wire then external cover or fly, no extra cover at door. Once you know how to erect, 5 mins max. If windy during day needs to be peged down at night I hope it does not blow away. Have used stretcher tent a dozen times. So far so good
