Camp Oven

love the camp oven, i think we should have ordered ten inch instead of 12 for us. Cooks in less time so had to adjust cooking time. Delivery service was excellent

Camp oven

We loved cooking with this camp oven while traveling through the Kimberley and NT. Everything we cooked in it turn out great and loved how light this camp oven is. Thank you to Snowys for great services.

great camp oven

Love this camp oven. We have cooked lots in it. Great being that bit lighter than the others to cart around. Highly recommend to all the keen camp cooks out there. Great service once again Snowys. Keep up the good work.

10" (small) Aussie Camp Oven

The usual excellent service from Snowy's, and a great looking camp oven. Very well made and seems quite robust. Lid fits base perfectly. Heavy gauge handles. 10" is more than adequate for all things we are likely to cook in it (2 adults). Can't imagine many people needing bigger, unless cooking for a crowd. Can't wait to use it.

Great Camp Oven

This camp oven is fantastic. Nice and light compared to cast iron, and just as efficient. Love it!

Great product

Very impressed, this is my first camp oven so I don't have anything to compare it to but i love it. Easy to cook in, great size for a nice big roast and sturdy construction. Well priced as well. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the market for one.

Happy camper

My camp oven came really well packed and I have now seasoned it as suggested. It is going to be plenty big enough for the two of us and I am trying to collect camp oven recipes to try on our next trip. I am impressed with the heavy duty quality of it and I am sure we will enjoy the food cooked in it.

Wow

I bought a 12" Spun Steel oven last month. Great quality, great price. My only complaint is its bloody huge. I reckon the 10" would have been perfect for 2 people....musn't grumble....just means theres plenty tukka left for the next day or several !!

Aussie camp oven

A very good quality unit although the handles are unnecessarily bulky and could be made to fit flush with the exterior Need to season with very thin oil coats about 5-6 times I used canola All up recommended!

Cooks well, but tight lid

We've now cooked everything from damper to pork roast in this, without a failure. Use of the trivet is essential. However the lid does fit extremely tightly, so we need to be careful not to pull the camp oven over when trying to remove the lid during cooking.

Do spun steel camp ovens need seasoning like cast iron ones?1 answers

- CANBERRA, ACT(6 months ago)
They sure do Andrew, it keeps them from rusting and creates a smooth non-stick cooking surface. The process for seasoning a steel oven is the same as that for cast iron.

I have a 12" Dr Livingstones, which cover will suit that size?3 answers

Having trouble finding any dimensions on the bags.

- Yinnar(7 months ago)
I had a go fitting the 12" camp oven in some bags in our store this morning Drew, and it turns out that it sits right in between a 9 qt and 12 qt bag. The 9 qt bag is a tight fit and requires a low level of perseverance to get the zip done up, but it holds everything tight so it wont rattle around. The 12 qt bag on the other hand is a very comfortable fit and you could stash other gear in with it. If you go with the 9 qt bag then make sure you get a canvas one so it stretches a little.
- Snowys(7 months ago)

Looking at the pioneer camp oven bags and noticed there's a 10qt canvas cover. Would this be the better option?

- Yinnar (7 months ago)
The 10 qt ovens are oval in shape Drew, they won't work with the round ovens.

Can you please advise the litre capacity of the 10 and 12" pot. Thank you1 answers

- HEYWOOD, VIC(7 months ago)
Hi Bob, I couldn't find this information readily available anywhere, so attempted to turn to my high school maths knowledge, this didn't work either! But alas, I found an online calculator that helped me work out the volume using height and diameter. For the 10" you're looking at about 7.5 litres, and for the 12", about 12 litres. Hope this helps.

Which storage is best for 10" Aussie Camp Oven currently?

- MAROUBRA, NSW(8 months ago)
Hi David, the 9 quart camp oven bags are the best size for the 10" Aussie Camp Oven. We have some good quality Campfire Pioneer storage bags that will do the job, search Snowys code 45263.

In 2012 a review mentions that the lid is extremely tight, has the design been changed since, or is the lid still tight to remove? Also when using the lid as a frypan, what would you use as its handle?1 answers

- Sunshine Coast(1 year ago)
Hi Tracie, there has been no design change we are aware of with these, the lid fits snugly, if you push firmly it can become stiff to remove. This may change with expansion as the oven heats. The frypan has 'paint tin' style handles, but there is no traditional handle for it. Many campers use a large set of multi grips for this purpose.

What storage bag fits Dr Livingstones 10" Aussie camp oven.1 answers

- COPMANHURST, NSW(1 year ago)
G'day Trevor, it will be a little oversized but a 9qt camp oven bag will be the best solution.
