The product review is dated 2018, so is on an older version of this chair.
Whilst the chair features and function has not changed, the frame materials most likely have.

There is no safety lock when folded, that mechanism just locks the chair into place when in use to stop it collapsing on someone.
If you want to keep it together when its shut, just use the webbing strap with the clip that will hold it all together.

There is a piece of chair frame there, but you cant feel anything against your legs.

The 5 position folds back to what can only be described as a 'very reclined' position but not flat so not as far back as the 8 position chair.  Other than that the only real difference between the two chairs is a slight difference in rated capacity, total weight and the rigid metal the 5 position uses versus the 8 position frame is rigid plastic.
